(OT) Near Triple Digit Temps, A Severe Storm, No Electricity and a Beautiful Bride!

For the last several months I have been helping my Sister, as sort of the unofficial wedding planner,  plan my Nieces wedding.  The temperatures here this week have been teetering around the triple digit mark which is very unusual for this time of year.  We spent Friday morning making the corsages and boutonnieres and then headed to the reception hall where we decorated and made all the centerpieces until about 5pm.  Just as I was leaving there to head back to my Sisters to pick up everything that needed to go to the Church for rehearsal at 7pm a severe storm hit the area with up to 80 mile and hour winds.   I got home just in time to change my clothes and head to the Church.  It took three attempts to find a road that wasn't blocked by downed trees.  I and several others arrived late to find no Power at the Church.  Finally we finished rehearsal around 8:30 and everyone headed to the rehearsal dinner while I headed back home to do the Bridal bouquets!  I finally got to bed around 1am, but sleep never came.  I was just too tired and too many things were running through my head.  Up early Saturday morning to load my vehicle and head back to the reception hall to finish setting things up before heading to the Church to steam dresses ... that's where it gets interesting!  There was still no power at the Church!  So, I made you read all this just so I could say, here is what you get when you have triple digit heat, a severe thunderstorm and a Church with no power ...  A Beautiful Happy Bride!

The happy bride and no one hurt is what counts. But I am sorry you had such aggravation.

A beautiful happy bride indeed, and a wedding day to remember, lol! This will make a great story over the years! Bravo to your niece for keeping her cool in spite of all that adversity! May she and her groom live happily ever after!

They can laugh at it some day in the future! beautiful bride!

She looks gorgeous! I'm glad she still had a good day. You are a good aunt!

This storm has been a real mess. I know a few people who have had plans interrupted by the storm. I am so glad your niece was able to smile and hope she had a wonderful day. Congratulations! BTW, everyone looks fabulous.

She sure is a beautiful bride, and you sure are a very special Aunt and Sister.

What a good story to tell people later on, lol. She was beautiful!

Beautiful bride - electrical power or not.  Congratulations to her and to you for 'soldiering' through what could have ruined the joyous occasion if you had let it.

Such a wonderful occasion and you were right in the middle of the adventure! Congratulations to the couple and to the superb wedding planner. ;o)

AWE!  Just beautiful!  What a wonderful aunt you are.  Hope the weather calms down for all of you!

A weekend to remember for sure!  What a lovely happy bride in spite of some major obstacles that came with this storm:)  She is also blessed to have such a creative aunt.

Beautiful!  I got married last weekend and we sat here this weekend thanking the lord because there is absolutely no power in the area and our reception would have been cancelled!
