This Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of the day that Yoda joined our family! Well, we're leaving in just a few minutes to head out to the Outer Banks. Yoda has his new short 'do in preparation for all the swimming he'll be doing all week! He's never been in the car for more than an hour, but we're thinking he should be fine with lots of breaks to stretch his legs. Once we get there we will meet up with my parents "spirited" yorkie and my brother's elderly yellow lab. Should be an interesting week! Last night I learned what it feels like to have 70 lbs. of doodle blindside you! We were getting ready to go to a dinner theater show last night when I let Yoda out one last time. He didn't come when I called him, and of course I went around the house to find him racing the fence with his buddy the pug next door. When he saw me he started running inside, so I turned back around the corner of the house to let him in.

So let me preface this by saying that Yoda's favorite toy is a hot dog. Awhile back I bought him a stuffed hot dog. He promptly proceeded to tear the hot dog out of the bun and rip half of the stuffing out of it. From then on he has carried the half-stuffed hot dog around whenever his humans are otherwise occupied and won't play with him. He prances around the house like he is carrying a trophy, throws it up in the air and catches it, and occasionally just lays down and chews lightly on… Continue
