Meet our Doodle Rescue Collective Foster PAISLEY - April 23, 2014.

This beautiful F1 Labradoodle, Paisley, came into our home on March 14th.  She was rescued in the 11th hour from a high-kill shelter in North Carolina. She was dumped at the shelter by her former owners for "reasons unknown." We came to learn those former owners were in fact running a puppy mill and poor Paisley has suffered tremendously because of this.  She came into Doodle Rescue with Heartworm and has been treated and released.  She was also diagnosed with Mallassezia Dermatitis which is a combination of a yeast and a bacteria infection.  She also had Demodex Mange.  She went through several dips or baths along with antibiotics and Fluconazole to put her on the path to recovery.  She has lost quite a bit of her hair but it has started to grow back.  As of today's vet visit, there is no longer any sign of bacteria or the demodex mites.  However, we will continue to treat her for the yeast, the Vet said it will take some time to recover, most likely because of the length of time untreated.  He noticed new hair growth and overall a much healthier Paisley both emotionally and physically.

We also have a Standard Poodle and two GoldenDoodles... all rescues in our home.  Paisley has found her place in the pack with the other dogs, is eating well and has not had one accident in the house. She likes to keep an eye on where I am but yet is feeling more confident to explore on her own. If there is too much activity with the other dogs, she will go in the guest room to find a quiet spot to rest. She is no trouble at all... she does not need to be crated, does not counter surf or get into trouble when we are not home.

Paisley loves her four legged friends and would be lost without them but is also trusting and warming up to people.  She will bark, with the others, but once she know that everything is OK is the first one wanting to be pet.  She absolutely loves toys and gets excited when we arrive home... Paisley will carry the toys to her favorite spots in the house or outside behind a tree.  She likes to nap and rest but is strong, agile and likes to play when it's time.  Paisley has a straighter, non-shedding coat that we have found to be much easier to brush and groom then our curly doodles that tend to mat.

Paisley is a very sweet and gentle soul and deserves a good home... she is slowly learning to trust and is rewarded with love, patience and more love. To find out more about Paisley, visit http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/28974122/

She is absolutely beautiful and Bear and Dexter would love to have a sister to play with. I would have filled out the adoption application but I don't have the fenced in yard required. Fencing in an acre and a half is way too big of an undertaking right now. Especially after spending $6000 on a new AC system this week! I hope she finds a good home soon. She looks like a beautiful soul who deserves to be loved and spoiled.

Thank you for fostering this sweet girl. She deserves that pampering and love!
