Just thinking about our wedding in May and was wondering if it is totally dorky and weird to have Parker as part of the day as I would love to have my baby in my photos since he was part of the engagement shoot! I could get him a nice bow-tie and he could be my ring bearer?? lol

His trainer from his puppy classes actually offers this service and since everything else is so upside down with my wedding planning and my parents probably not even coming, I felt like doing something fun. The original theme of the wedding was supposed to be FUN anyway because we decided to get married next to a carousel.

I don't know...I don't wanna be one of "those people" as people have said to me but I guess I will see...I gotta see how much the trainer charges to transport him and get him ready because we have a super budget now that we are suddenly paying for everything now because when we signed all the contracts, my parents were going to pay 50%. OY

Pictures of my photogenic dood from our engagement shoot this summer.

UPDATE: The dog trainer who could deal with Parker was okay financially but happens to have another wedding on the same Friday night as ours! There goes that!

lol I think the photographer had told us both to kiss him but DF didn't quite follow directions!

And my family is not totally to blame...my mom has been seriously ill so she is no longer working (she would still give us the money if it were up to her) but my dad is so stressed about money that he doesn't want to spend any of it! And at the moment they are in Bermuda and it was an ordeal to even get her home so if she has not done a complete turnaround, then there is just no way she'd be able to fly to NJ to come to my wedding...she isn't walking or anything. I am hoping the venue has wireless internet because then at least I could skype her in...though I am really disappointed she won't be in any of my photos.

DO IT, DO IT! We already know he looks good in a tie... LOL. I don't think it's tacky or dorky at all. I've seen so many beautiful weddings in which their dogs were a big part of their day. I think a wedding is all about you guys, and your pup is part of your family! Here are some photos I've found of pups being included in weddings. SO cute.

Alright, one more. :-)

aww this one is sweet!

lol he does look good in a tie...any occasion for him to look "formal" is good for me! lol

ABSOLUTELY DO IT !!!  Parker is part of your life so why not include him in the festivities. If he is well behaved and there will be someone to watch and tend to him I would do it.  The only reason why I would not do it is if he was scared around lots of people or loud music but if he is OK with that then there is no reason why he should not be there.  BTW great pictures and Parker is just so darn cute :)   If I were to ever get married my two doodles would absolutely be included :)

I think you should 'go for it' it doesn't have to be OTT it can be very tasteful as your engagement pictures quite clearly show.

Katie - take it from someone older and wiser . . . . life IS too short to give a hoot what anyone else says.  Live, love, laugh and yes have Parker be the ring bearer!!!!!  Your photos are adorable and we wish you all the best.

This sounds like such fun....definitely go for it!  The pictures are wonderful, and Parker will be a special part of your wedding.

Just do what makes you happy, it's your wedding, just be prepared to be upstaged by is adorable self.  It can only make your day even more special. I was at a wedding last summer and their little dog was in the church but not in the wedding. I said to DH, I would have him up there with me and he agreed. It was a tiny little dog, I thing I would have carried her instead of a bouquet. Of course that one bouquet you wouldn't have thrown. :>) Good luck with all your plans, don't stress, it will be special, besides the things that go wrong make the best stories. Your photos are lovely.

DO IT!!!!
