Getting such fantastic info on this site, I'll put this one out there. Pet stores have 100's of different dog beds. I went through several with my westie. The first one I purchase had a fill (don't remember exactly what it was but it was some kind of natural chips, etc, at least it looked liked that) but iover time, whenever I went to wash the cover, the fill would get so lumpy i spots there was not way I could fluff it out to make it more comfortable to lie on! So my 2nd bed, boulster and all, was filled with a mcro fill and while it lasted much longer than the first, the fill also seemes to separate and get lumpy and bumpy.
I want to get the very best comfort for my little pug/doggie doodle. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

I got a bolster one from Costco and Peri looooves it soooo much. Most morning I awake to find her all 4 paws up in the air inside her bed. So funny!

Keep in mind that in the beginning you might want to have a more washable bed since there will likely be a few accidents on it. I still wash Harper's bed every other week or so, even though she doesn't have accidents on it. Doodles seem to like sleeping on their backs, and at least my doodle is not fussy about having a big bed (my older Dalmatian is). While Harper is a puppy we are using these great crate-lining beds that easily fit in the washer and are made of recycled materials. They are higher quality than a lot of beds so we expect them to hold together better from washings (and so far they have). This is the kind we have, and we have seen them at almost every high-end pet store we go to.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Orvis beds....we have the memory foam ones. The cover zips off to wash. The one I've had for 4 years now is just starting to show wear after 3 dogs sleeping on it!!!! It comes small, med and large.

Cooper prefers to sleep on the floor!!!!! I guess she gets too hot otherwise. She loves to have just the plastic bottom in her crate - we leave the door open so she can come and go as she pleases but she will not go in there if theres any kind of bedding. I have a cool bed for her which she uses alot in the summer, and a thinish flat bed she often lays on. both are next to my computer which is where i usually am when im home. We also have a very thin flat mat next to our bed which she sleeps on at night - just to mark "her spot" and to try to keep the carpet clean!
