I'm posting this here because I am NOT a photographer... I'm taking pictures with my iPhone and am having a hard time getting any good ones of Mila's face, since she's a dark chocolate color and her eyes are dark (and mostly hidden under all that hair!!) Tips? She sort of looks blobbish in most of the pics I have now, and you can't hardly tell it's the front of her face!

Your best bet is to join the photography group.  I'm sure there are posts about photographing dark colored dogs.

Good advice. Lots of our members were not photographers until they got a doodle, joined DK and the PG.

Ditto!

Nah, lots of the photograph group members know that stuff, but I don't.  I am a point and shoot girl.  Join the group and contribute at your level, that's what I do.

It is difficult to do especially if you do not trim the hair around the eyes. Even with that you need to try to get optimal lighting with light shinig on your doodle's face. Some of us also can work some magic with editing. But with a dark doodle, hair in front of her eyes and an iPhone you may not be able to achieve what you want.

I agree with this. In short I think your best bet would be to trim around the eyes, and try to shoot pictures where your pup is facing the light straight on.

My Oliver is black and so difficult to photograph, he always looks like a big black blob !!!!

If you are outdoors, light is your friend, If you are indoors, light from a window will help.

Chip is a dark chocolate too.

I have the very same problem.  Zelda is black and you can almost NEVER see her face in pictures.
