HELP! This is a picture of my new neighbors deck - it is about 200 yards away from mine. They moved in last month and have 3 dogs - a Yorki, a Bischon and a very cute Polish something or another. Help me to come up with a way to tell her that she must clean up the poop every time, not once or twice a week!
It's still Spring but can you imagine what it will be like in the Summer, OMD. They pee on those fake grass patches but the poop as you can see is everywhere. This is the after a day it was cleaned up. I don't want a feud but what can I do, if she doesn't clean up I am going to have to turn her in. She will know it's me who's complaining as I am the only one close enough to see it.

I say you wait for a really warm day..with the a nice breeze coming from her direction, THEN you invite her over to your deck for a glass of wine and eats.  That way she can see AND SMELL what you see.   Maybe a fly or too will join the party!!

Maybe she will get the hint!!

That sounds great! Hope it gets really warm fast and take her through the back way so no ecoli gets in your place!
Yes, that is certainly a sh***y situation you have. If you write her a note be sure and include a picture of your view, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Camilla could make you some fake poop and you start pelting her windows with it until she cleans this mess up :) I am a letter writer, so that is what I would do and include this picture. Good luck. This is a crappy situation...LOL. I really do sympathize with you. I hate when neighbors make your life hell.
If this seems to be the norm and not just a bad day then I would just report it, that is gross and it probably won't go well if you approach her.  If you do approach her and she is annoyed or don't fix, then report her she will know or strongly suspect you and could make it more awkward.  This way she gets the request from your complex and you can stay friendly.  Especially with three dogs, the poop will pile up super fast.  Good luck with it.

I would write a short note that is well worded like some of the examples given...That way you're sure that you say the right thing with the right wording and you don't have to react to her response...with emotion when face to face.

The HOA slant is effective too and can help align you together since she IS going to be living there....indefinitely!

But I agree...it has to be addressed. If she isn't picking up off her deck, she will NOT be picking up in the common areas when on a walk.

Good Luck!!!

How do THEY live like that?
I am NOT defending the lady...however if she has 3 dogs, all that poop could just be from their morning dump!!!

Can you explain about the use of the fake grass. I have seen these advertised and wonder ok good idea but how do you clean them? I am wondering about the puppy I am sitting they have a little juliet balcony off their main living space which is two and a Bit floors away from the main outside door. He is not fully trained and has urgency issues. He could get to that door in a jiffy and the parents who are late 40s early 50s don't have to try and get down the stairs at full speed to let him out.

Has anyone used one.

Wow- so gross! We had a similar situation with my husband where he works, he also does maintenace outside an in. He gets there at like 4am and he was walkin on a very main public sidewalk and each day there was more and more poop. So he was on the look out, turns out a new tenant moved in upstairs in the next building and he just let his dog poop and leave! So he finally sees him and just very directly that he is a sick Ba****d! and that he diesn't enjoy stepping in dog poop especially if it's not from his own dog! Get out here and do something about it or the cops will be here. Well, he saw the guy out on the very busy sidewalk with a SHOVEL!!!! Trying to scrape it all off! Gross-also last summer wherever we walked someone was letting their dog poop on all the sidewalks and you could tell that it was the same dog!!! We were just waiting to see who it was but never did-my DH came home a few times in a "CRAPPY"mood from his walk!!!!

So for you, it's best to be direct-you do not want to wait for a hot day and a barbecue at your house!

Gross...disgusting...ish.  Let's see...how about TP'ing her deck?  LOL  Oh, that probably wouldn't be nice.  I am very glad I don't have to look at that.  As Nancie said...this is going to really stink when it gets warm.

WELL APPARENTLY THE PEOPLE DECIDED THAT SATURDAY IS CLEAN UP DAY.

By yesterday morning it was really 3 times the mess. I have my brother, sil, dd, dsil here for a 3 day weekend, they all saw it on Friday and yesterday we sat on the deck and theirs was cleaned up.

Maybe when the weather is nice (yesterday 70ish) they will clean it up always?!?!?!?!?! Please Lord, I hope so.
