My 18 month old GD has a new bad habit - eating my 2 yr old GD's poop. I've tried some over the counter pills that don't seem to be doing anything to stop this so now I'm looking for another remedy. They have always gone out together to do their business so I've tried letting them out separately. They just stand and look at me like "what's wrong". I've read through some previous posts and thinking about trying the tenderizer solution but don't want to do anything to harm the Maggie, innocent doodle. KoKo waits for Maggie to go, I sometimes think she's going to get hit in the head with poop. Talk about being up someones''s butt. Please give me more information about tenderizer or pineapple or anything else that I can do.

I think I would continue to take them out separately and wait it out..... My DIL's female whippet eats poop and she has never been able to solve it either. We just clean up asap.
My sister calls her (non doodle) Clover "reduce, reuse, recycle" because Clover eats poop in the yard (her own and her two sister dogs), then barfs it up, then eats the poop barf. Nothing has worked as a perma-cure!
Wow, glad I had just finished eating my brownie when I read that one!! LOL
Our Winnie does this too! She eats her own poop, and nothing we have tried has worked. The only thing more disgusting than watching her eat it, is watching her barf it back up in the house. It is maddening! The only thing that works for us, is standing next to her and immediately picking it up. Of course, maybe she is just being considerate by helping us keep the yard clean for the kids :)
My dogs are fed good kibble and have never ingested dog poop. Luca did attempt to eat horse poop once.
Ditto for my Shelby! Even the attempt at eating the horse poop!
Hunter will go after goose poop in a second if given the chance! YUCK I have a horse-phobia so I don't think I will ever have to witness that one!
My DIL's whippets have been fed raw and it didn't make a difference for her whippet.
Sorry Andrea,
One of my raw fed dogs is a poop eater :-(
I would take them out on their own for awhile. Hopefully it will be outgrown, we were lucky to never have this issue. We stiil take them out one at a time so things get done!
Cubbie used to do that when he was younger. We tried the pills and they only made him puke up poop (really really gross). we tried giving him pineapple but we ended up just keeping an eye on his and would clean up right after he went so he wouldn't have a chance to get at it and he seems to have out grown it. Ollie ate Cubbie's poop a few weeks ago but it appears to have been a one time thing. If we are home, we don't let them out to go without being supervised. I would say that you should just scold them if you see them sniffing it and clean up the mess as soon as possible. Hopefully they will outgrow it.
