Prayers: having issue with paw

Hi, its been awhile since ive posted here but need prayers and support from my fellow doodle lovers. My Brooks started limping on right front paw about 2 weeks ago. Thought at first it was a strain but then I was feeling around on his paw and could see a scab of some sort and thought I felt something sharp and thin but couldn't get him to sit still enough to see for sure. Took him in last week and doc examined and saw the scab, irritation and redness and it smelled but couldn't see or find anything. Put him on antibiotics and wanted foot soaked...did that, it didn't get worse but still limping after rest. Took him today to be sedated so she could get a good look around. She said she couldn't find anything or a cavity where it looked like something had entered his paw. Didnt look infected either...She irrigated it but she said his tissue around one of his paw pads is inflamed and she said it looked like tenticels (like a sea creature) were coming out. I saw a picture and there is a large raw looking spot and another spot near toe where tissue is sticking out.

She said she's never seen anything like it before in regards ti the tissue but thought maybe it was his body's reaction to whatever is causing the issue. She took samples of that tissue in his paw for biopsy. I'm still confused and so is vet. I asked if she thought cancer and she said that's at the bottom of her list of possibilities but I'm still so freaked out and scared. I have no idea. Any thoughts? Could be up to two weeks for results. He's just 4 and very healthy.

I still feel like something was in there to begin with. Sorry for long post...just can't stop thinking about it. Any thoughts appreciated...and please lift Brooksy in your prayers.

It almost sounds like a Foxtail, but I guess those are out here in California.  I know once they get into an area they can travel up a leg and get embedded into many areas of the dog.  I'm so sorry Brooks is going through this and hopefully they will find out what is going on and treat it successfully.  Prayers for Brooks!
