I got a phone call from my breeder yesterday. There is a lady in my city that wants a puppy from the same breeder but can't drive the 6 hours each way to go get it. She wanted to know if she could give the lady my # so she could ask me to pick up her puppy when I go get mine. I said give her my #.
My puppy will be 8 wks old & hers will be 7wks. DH and I are driving down with our grandson, spending the night and driving home next day. I want to pick up the puppy the day we get there and keep him in the hotel overnight. We did this with Yankee as well. No problems whatsoever on that trip. Here are pics of Yankee in the hotel.
I am wondering what the pros & cons are of bringing back the 2 puppies. I don't see a problem with it but am I missing something?
I think it would work out fine. They already know each other and could be company for each other. Maybe a little more work but it is just a few days. Good luck and congratulations on getting a new puppy.
I would clearly make it know that if something were to happen to her puppy your not held responsible, your not insured to deal with this pup and can be wide open for a lawsuit if something would happen. I'm not saying not to do it or help out, but yes there are cons ...and if's...So a clearly written agreement would benfit you both...better to be safe than sorry...
My pup flew in the same crate with his brother from Mi. to Az and all of us,( the breeder, other family and us), felt it was much less stressful for them both. I'd think it would be the same in this situation and also helpful for the 7 week old pup to be with a "pack" member for a few more days. Always read that 8 weeks was the minimal to seperate them, so it's a win-win situation.
Will you have both of them in the hotel the first night?
Good luck, what a nice thing to do for someone. Do you believe in Karma? You're building good karma.
I see no problem either except as everyone feels, there is a liablility is something would happen to the pup or it would get sick. You just never know. Get some kind of an agreement first and then go for it. I know you would very much appreciate it if it was the other way around.
