Hi, I was wondering if there is a list of foods on DK that some started that lists foods that are ok to give our dogs? I tried giving our puppy yogurt and he threw up a few hours later, I mentioned this to our local pet store and she was horrified that I would give my puppy yogurt. I know many of you regularly give your dogs yogurt for the probiotics and pumpkin for the fiber. Are there any other "clean, nutritious" foods that you give your dog??
Thanks!!

Doesn't take them long to figure out they don't like lemon huh J :)
Mine love fruit and veggies, it is so funny to watch them pop a cherry tomatoe! The first time I gave Buddy one, he rolled it around the ground for a few minutes until he figured out it was something to eat.
The one thing neither of them will get near is real crab...... Kona will roll on it, silly doodle.
My childhood dog was once given some caviar to try... she rolled on it! Maybe they love fishy smell so much they want to smell like it too!
That's always been my thought, they love the beach and the ocean scent. Kona just wants to smell just like that LOL She will carry sea shells around too, like mussels, just to carry them :)
I once gave my last poodle some broiled salmon, and she rolled on that, too.
But think what else they roll on. Um, droppings from geese and rabbits. So basically, they are saying that they think fish is....doody. LOL
JD loves fish, it's his favorite food. I think they either love it, or they equate it with poop.
Kona rolled in a dead seal on vacation in Santa Barbara a couple of years ago, OMG, talk about stink! She loves to perfume herself....
That's what I mean! They roll on stinky things, and apparently to some of them, fish and seafood is equivalent to a dead seal or a pile of goose poop, lol.
Yes! I agree! And, she also loves to eat the goose poop, the horse poop etc.... Thank gosh she doesn't eat doggy poop. My angel Buddy doesn't eat or roll in any of that! Glad I have one with good sense :)
Luna thinks fishy smell = best food ever. She goes NUTS if I open a can of tuna or cook salmon. She loves wildlife poop (apparently rabbit poop = kibble and goose poop = perfume), but thankfully doesn't touch dog poop.
Spud doesn't get people food. No way. Sorry. Yes, he has had yogurt, didn't like the pumpkin, but he was sick so I don't know.
He has had a slice of banana, which he rolls around and around because I think he likes the texture, but he spits it out eventually. He does go for ice cream with us in the summer and that stays down 85% of the time now. That is a lot better. He does not like any other veggie, green bean, but I have seen him eat broccoli on a rare occasion. He does get a tsp of peanut butter with his EPO.
But.... he does get a fortune cookie when we order Chinese, which is rare. Still, he waits until our dinner is done, then we each have a cookie and read the fortune.
Mine LOVE banana, when we all meet up for a dodle breakfast at our fav dog friendly place, I always order banana instead of the hashbrowns, so I can share :)
