Salmon Oil

I was shopping The Three Dog Bakery in Richmond, VA where I go on a regular basis to buy ALL of my Dog treats, Collars, Leashes etc. The Owner Myra asked if I had tried "Grizzly Salmon Oil"? She has two Goldens and Loves it. I bought a small bottle to try, but should have gotten the large since my two DOODLES are going Crazy for it. I give them 2 pumps in their dinner meal and they lick their bowls like they haven't eaten in days!!! It says on the bottle "RICH TASTE DOGS LOVE" apparently so~ LOL

I don't see a question in your post, but salmon oil is very good for them. I give fish oil capsules as it is much more affordable with two. But they loved the salmon oil as well when I did give it. Lucky you have a Three Dog Bakery near you.

Often, the human grade fish oil capsules are enteric coated, which prevents the fatty acids from being digested in the stomach but rather in the small intestine, which helps prevents the "fish burps", lol.

Curious as when one starts to give this? Also any fish supp. For humans safe for pup...go by age or weight?

my doodle can be picky and we are always looking for ways to entice him.  A new and healthy additive would be great.

I've always advocated adding salmon oil for the specific Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA , not necessarily to entice your dog to eat, lol. But if that's an added bonus, so much the better. I generally find that human supplements are cheaper and better quality than the ones made especially for pets, but there's nothing wrong with using this particular salmon oil if you want to.

Yes, it definitely helps with the fish burps, and I mostly use it for itching skin and of course for general health. Getting my two to eat has never been an issue, but if it helps, it's a win- win!
