Murphy tends to be afraid of odd things.  He was in Petsmart for the umpteenth time and noticed the huge dog statue opposite the checkout line. He started his deep growl but I intervened before he went into  full bark mode. We got out of line walked around the store and got back in a different line. But he was ever vigilant and spotted the offender.  And just in case that wasn't enough, did you know that there is a giant dog and cat hanging from the ceiling???!

What odd things frighten your doodle? (Of course there was that statue in Austin)

Well there must be something wrong with Oliver, I have yet to find anything that scares or makes him nervous...He loves to go for stuff blowing in the wind, jumping for balls, would love to get to the golf carts, if he could, and loves bicycles...So far no fears, is that good or bad???...Not sure.
It might be easier to ask "what" Rooney isn't scared off.  Just now - in the dark - time to potty so we head to his new fav spot - the house kitty cornered from us that is for sale - until he noticed that the next door neighbor had his outdoor lani TV on and then he ran like Beelzebub was chasing him.  Glad that Murp was "on point" and protecting you - lol!!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  Love all the scaredy dogs!   Who knew?  Starlit, is afraid of Starlit, Spud fears nothing.
We have DH's beer cans lined up on the table.   Starlit the counter surfer jumps up and freaks.  Spud grabs a can and runs around Banging and Banging on the floor. Cool toy.  Beer Pong anyone?  Aghhh

So cheers with an empty beer can to you Murphy and Vern

Notice the Butt smelling going on--Spud

Oh and PS.  We hate that fake dog at the PetSmart too.

The first time Daisy saw this she barked her head off...then she acted just like Starlit is in the picture.

Hey Joanne, Bow Wow Beach is open again by the way - yesterday at noon. We won't be going yet, Daisy will just want to be in the water and I think it may be just a little cold yet.

Great photo! Murphy looked a lot like Starlit.  When we were in Austin he was terrified of the first statue of the boy throwing the newspaper. We were walking in the park later going to the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue. I distracted him before we got to it and then put treats at SRV's feet (not really appropriate homage but...) Murphy wanted the treats more. It went much better than the downtown incident.
Lucy doesn't like anything to come up behind her.  That makes her very nervous.  Both girls don't like things out of place or trash in the yard.  The kids next door built a snowman this winter sadly right at our fence so everytime we came out the back door to potty, L&S thought they had to charge and bark at the snowman.  I was so happy when it melted.  They both hate the big vacuum but follow me around with the swiffer vacuum.  Lucy also doesn't like loud noises.  We live on the outer edge of town and if there is someone hunting and she hears a gunshot, even if in mid poo she head for the door.
Well clearly Daisy is just like many others (again)...this was a great post Linda. Cheryl, you have it made with Oliver.
Guinness is afraid of his brother....does that count?  Murph was afraid of lots of things as a puppy, but he's outgrown that.  If he sees something he's unsure of he does stay close to "Mommy", but that's about the only reaction.
Snickers is afraid of Potato peels. Whenever I peel a potato in the kitchen he will growl at the garbage can. His tail will be down and he is on high alert. It is the strangest thing. Last fall he was also terrified of the protective covers that were around the rose bushes. He barked and growled at them until we finally made him investigate and check it out. Since then no prob but woah the the potato peel!

There are a couple of things that Darwin is a little bit leery of.

The first is DH strumming on the guitar. He is fine when DH is just sitting and playing, but if he stands up and makes a move towards Darwin with the guitar, Darwin will run off and hide on our bed. The second is our back massager. It has those little knobs that turn inside of it, and when you turn on the heat setting the knobs glow red. He'll just sit and watch it but if you push it towards him at all, he will again, run and hide.

Never any growling or barking so I guess his reaction in the face of "danger" is to flee, rather than fight. LOL, silly doodle.

I think a list of what Allie ISN'T afraid of would be easier!  She has been afraid of anything that moves since day ONE.  We have had her since 9 weeks.  The vacuum cleaner & Swiffer is out to kill her,  the vertical blinds do attack, the Keurig Machine has her running into panic mode down the hallway into the other room, the soft lunch box that fell from the top of the refrigerator caused a nervous break down, Our neighbors holiday decorations must be armed.  We have to break down boxes in a different room, she is afraid of her food bag when it crinkles after I have shut it (she won't eat if she hears the bag crinkle), a plastic grocery bag that showed up last year after the ice had melted that was stuck on one of our bushes had her really freaked out. Jared mentioned manhole covers - Allie too!  But she isn't afraid of people, or other dogs - that's a plus!

Anything totally out of the ordinary for Kona.  She is getting better though, it used to be people with strange hats, hair, or if they were carrying a collapsed chair slung on their backs.  One time we went to an event, and one of the stands had this little pink pig cut out of plywood with all kinds of sparkly Mardi Gras Beads hung on it.  Talk about wild eyed and barking up a storm!!!!  She finally calmed down enough to sniff it and see it was not alive :)

Now Buddy has very few issues, thank god.  When he was young he would bark at really tall men, like basketball player height, but once I introduced them he was fine.  A funny think happened just a couple of weeks ago at the dog park.  He started going bonkers and barking at this girl.  I was a little stunned, and walked over to calm him down.  When I saw her face she had this big ring through her lip.  He is so watchful, he notices everything!
