Screen Names on Doodle Kisses

I was just looking through the member list and started thinking about how people have designated their scrren name.  We have our first names and our dogs names.  This way it kind of lets you know a little about us.  Some people just list their name and some have names like "so and so's Mom" , etc.

 

How did you make up your screen name and why?

When I joined I really didn't think much about it except putting down our names.  We are Nancie and Gracie Doodle Casey.  It is very simple.  I figured sharing our last name was not a problem here on DK.  I actually prefer when people put at least their first names so we can address them as such in a message or post.  It just seems weird to post a comment to the Doodle and not the owner.

It is probably not a problem to share a last name, however everyone should keep in mind this site is visible to anyone online who might stumble upon it and /or look up your name in Google.  So as long as you don't mind that, not a problem.

I didn't know what to do so I followed along as if this was Daisy's site not mine....I am known through my dog, LOL. In Yappy hour, some members who really don't know me will refer to me as Daisy, it makes me smile.

I started out with my first and last name and the Chloe & Myla-my husband said something like: You gav your last name and your city!! Do you want someone to look that up and steal our dogs????? So I dropped the last name to please him.

I too have made the mistake and called th parent by the dogs name omg I felt bad!! So I agre that people name then dogs name works well to keep track of everyone!!

I figured it out  I always call Wilson, Willy Babe when its time for a walk or going for a car ride, and especially when I get up in the morning and leave for work.    12 days left of school  YEA  then its Summer TIme

When I first joined I had my last name listed also but then I realized that it wasn't the smartest thing to do (don't want a doodle stalker, lol) and so we became "Jane and Rooney".

Using your full name on-line can be risky. As Adina said, anyone can look at anything you post here, unless you make your page private. That includes your photos, and if you have children, you need to think about anyone who knows your name or your child's name having access to photos of your children as well as other personal information. We do tell each other a lot here about our lives. Sometimes there are custody situations or other personal/legal issues that would make it not a good idea to use your full name in chat forums.

Anyone who has never Googled herself/himself should try it. You may be surpirsed how much comes up. You can learn almost anything about a person through the internet, especially if their name is not common. (If you're wondering who your old flame from high school is dating now, start Googling, lol)

For that matter, Google your DK screen name in quotation marks and you'll be amazed at how much comes up that way, too.
