I just don't want to let this day pass without saying a prayer for all those who died in the attack on 9/11 and for the loved ones left behind. That date will be forever etched in our hearts and I am sure each of us can remember what we were doing that day when we first heard the news. Take a minute to do a kind deed today in honor of all of the victims of 9/11. Hug a loved one or just count your blessings! I will never understand this kind of violence and how people get to this point that hurting innocent people benefits their causes in any way.

I hugged mine too Nancie!
Thank you, Dee. How nice of your town to honor those lost on 9/11.
Thank you. I visited the memorial when I was in NYC a few weeks ago. Beautiful and sobering.
DJ, I want to go to that memorial someday. I am sure it was very sobering to see.
Laurie, That is a wonderful sentiment. I still get chills when I remember that day. You would think that here in Newfoundland we would be horrified but yet removed from this disaster. I was at work that day and returned from a coffee break to find everyone gathered around a tv in one of our patient's rooms. The first plane had flown into the tower and we were shaken by the tragedy but that quickly changed to total horror as the rest of the nightmare unfolded. Shortly after we watched as plane after plane flew over and landed at the local airport. Our population grew by 17,000 people that day. Driving home from work that evening and seeing all the planes stacked on the runway was a very surreal and eerie feeling and not one I am likely to forget.
Our friends in Canada really stepped up to the plate that day Donna. I got goosebumps reading this. Thanks for sharing.
They really did!
The good people of Newfoundland were true heroes those days.
Wow, Donna that gave me chills reading your post. I have yet to not have tears on 911 even after twelve years! A very sad, sad day in history.
