Shaved ears and tail?

Before I post a picture...which may be a long time because I can't bring myself to take one......does anyone have a picture of a doodle with SHAVED ears and tail???????

I can beat any groomer horror story you've got....promise!  I am so angry I can't begin to put into words what I am feeling without using numerous expletives.  Murphy had some matting on his tail and coat.  He swims quite a bit and they get worse everytime he gets in the water.  He went to the groomer today and I knew she would need to do some repair work on the ears and take his tail down very short.  I was worried about the tail but had accepted it.  I went to pick him up and he is cut exactly like a Schnauzer.  She shaved his ears and tail along with the rest of his body.  Not only are they shaved they are all choppy with some long pieces here and there.  It is the most awful thing I have ever seen.

Did I mention that my sweet Murphy now has SHAVED EARS and Tail??????

All I can do is cry.

I don't want to post a picture because it is so awful.......everyone here is so supportive and I know you would feel like being kind but it is impossible.  There is no way this can be fixed and there isn't a liar on the earth good enough to be kind about it.

I have never seen a doodle with shaved ears....have you?  Anyone?  Got a picture?

I am going to go back to crying and drinking now.

Yikes Jared. That really is a "chop job". I hope you "Yelped" that groomer so that others do not follow. Poor Dakota...how can they seriously think this is acceptable?????

This sounds awful. A dog I had as a kid had this happen to him once. It was devastating for me at the time, but fortunately it grows out quickly. I would suggest trimming the choppy pieces so it grows out evenly and looks slightly less frustrating. I'm sorry you have to go through this. :(

Oh, poor Murph. I brought Casey in and she also got a very, very short cut. Ears and tail icluded. The worse part was that the groomer got toooooo close on both her hind quarters and she had these two raw spots for two weeks! She had the same thing on her two front legs. She still won't leave the legs alone! I can deal with the short hair but her legs and butt look terrible! And of course she is very light gream which makes it stand out more!

What a stupid thing that groomer did.  Did you howl at her?  what did you say... did you pay the full bill.  One  good thing (though not much consolation now) is that it will grow back. 

One of my daughters who has gorgeous long massive curly hair decided aged 10 that she wanted to shave it all off.  I eventually gave in much to everyones dismay.  The hairdresser kept asking me 'Are you sure?['  Sophie looked like a boy for six months and only when women in the ladies Bathrooms kept pointing her to the Gentleman's Bathrooms did she decide that it was time to  let it grow again.  At 23 she has a beautiful long head of gorgeous soft curls and has no intention of cutting them down!   

The moral is that you will look back on this as one of those things....all be it  a pretty awful one.  If you do decide to post a picture we promise we won't laugh. : )

It does grow back. It does grow back. Just keep reminding yourself it does grow back! And find another groomer!

Poor Murphy probably feels as badly as you do. He deserves a drink, too!

Ronna - I'm just seeing this post and I hope that enough time has passed that it is o.k. if I laugh a little  - o.k. a lot.  It was all the references to the wine drinking - my motto "when the going gets tough - the tough drink" - I live by that - lol.  Murphy is a sweet, adorable puppy - the groomer however should be chained to the bumper of your car and taken for a drive.  I know that you are upset - I would be also - just know that it will grow out and that he is cute no matter what.  I would cut the poof and mustache off as in a puppy cut and let it all grow out together.  When YOU can laugh let me know then I'll tell you who Murphy resembles with this cut.  Hang in there Ronna, doodle kisses to you xoxoxo.

Come on Tina and Jane...you can tell me.  I will laugh I promise.  I NEED to laugh :)  I feel much better though...I just got a picture of my new 2 day old baby doodle..it has more hair than Murphy:)
