Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello, My name is Joni and I just purchased Parker from a breeder in Western Maryland. Yesterday, he was eating and running around like a normal puppy. Today, he is throwing up yellow bile and not eating or playing. He has been throwing up since this morning. I'm worried about him since is not drinking or eating. He has his first puppy visit with the vet tomorrow. Is there anything I should be doing? He was eating a lot of grass as well.
We purchased him on Thursday and he has been so happy eating and playing with the grandchildren. He has been sleeping all day. The only time he gets up is to throw up. We're concerned he ate a poison plant.
Any advice would be helpful.....thank you

oh I really hope he is at the vet and okay. Update us when you can. Sending positive thoughts your way!
To all,
I took Parker to the emergency vet, I live in Waldorf, and he has been diagnosed with parvo. I can't tell you how bad I feel. Please say a prayer he will get better soon. He's on a iv and because his symptoms just showed up today, maybe there is a chance he will get well.
I can't believe this has happened. We had a GR named JD that we lost in January to cancer. We did everything we could to save him. This is why I adopted a goldendoodle.
Hope Parker makes a quick and complete recovery.
You will find a lot of help and advise on DK.
It's so good that you took him to the vet. The sooner the better from what I have heard. It is so hard to see such a little guy so sick. You all are in my prayers. Keep us updated!
Joni, I am so sorry to hear that Parker was diagnosed with Parvo. Sending prayers and positive thoughts. Please contact the breeder and let them know.
I am so sorry this has happened and I am hoping hard that Parker can be saved. I know that another puppy here recently had Parvo and luckily has, I think, made a recovery. Have you contacted the breeder and did they give you a Health Guarantee when you purchased him? Parvo very rarely occurs in breeders that follow the guidelines as listed here on 'what to look for in a breeder'. It is too bad you didn't find DK before you looked for a puppy. That being said it is of vital importance that the Breeder is informed as all the other puppies in the facility are at huge risk if not already ill. I wish you all the very best as this must be very hard indeed for you especially since you lost a much loved dog at the beginning of the year.
Please keep us updated here as soon as you know more.
That is heartbreaking! Lots of hugs and prayers for Parker going your way!!!!! Hang in there!
I am so sorry he has parvo. The good news is you got him to the vet early and they are going to do everything they can to help him. I hope he recovers quickly and can come back home to you soon.
I know this is a difficult and stressful time for you, but you really need to get in contact with the breeder you got him from so they can let ever one else that got one of their puppies know so they can all be taken to the vet immediately. They will need medical treatment too, and the sooner the better.
I will be thinking of your little one. Please keep us updated.
Joni, I am so sorry to hear about Parker. You did all the right things to help him! Keeping him in prayers for a total recovery!
