This is a discussion we had - in there are instructions for a "BLOAT EMERGENCY KIT"

Sorry for your friends loss.
Groucho Too's father (Groucho) died of bloat at 7 years old. It is quite scary. I think I will get some Gas-X just to have it on hand. So sorry to hear about this, Kris, but good to learn a little more about bloat.
So the product Gas-x is mention. What about Baking Soda? This product is much more likely to be in every household and probably much easier to find in an emergency.
Old wives used a pinch of Baking Soda. Any thoughts?
I see some mention on the web but no good source. I wouldn't waste time but rather I would get in the car and get to the nearest ER vet.
Kris ~ I feel so sorry for your friend. RIP Luke.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. Thank you for sharing the link, it is always a good reminder.
Poor thing :( This recently happened to a friend of ours as well. We have Leia, our Goldendoodle, on a baked dog food to try and prevent this at all cost. I'm so glad she doesn't gulp her food down, but they do make feeding bowls that can slow down a dog's eating, as well, if you you're dog eats quickly and you want a preventative measure. Thanks for the reminder of what to look for! Our girl is going to be a big chested dog, and susceptible to this for sure.
So kind of you to post this information. I hope my Bindi has found Luke in heaven and they are playing with no pain.
