My old groomer is coming to clean up DerbyDoodle tomorrow.
More of a bath than anything else, but I do think she needs her eyes trimmed..since everyone is making remarks about her not being able to see.
So, here's the punch line....any specific instructions...I really am Not quite sure how to ask her to trim her face. I want a shaggy doodle but I know the hair between her eyes needs something done, but I am not sure of the PROPER approach to get the look I see on most of the doodles here.
( shave it, cut it, leave it alone?)
The groomer usually only grooms small dogs..so she's never done a doodle..she's coming to do DerbyDoodle b/c of our past relationship & b/c DerbyDoodle is suppose to stay under 20 lbs..and is now probably under 8lbs.
SO, please any instructions so she can begin to acquire that beautiful doodle face?!

I think you will find good advice and instructions on this in The Grooming Group.

Not really so much info on the grooming site!
At least not anything I found really helpful

Find a picture of a clip you like & show it to the groomer & she should be able to figure out the cut.  You can't just leave it between the eyes because it will keep growing.

If your groomer has never groomed a doodle, I think a picture will be the most helpful.  It sounds like you will be there to be sure things go well :)  Maybe you can post a picture tomorrow.

Try this and see if you think it will help your groomer.

I was going to post this! this is the guide i use for cooper

Maybe It's just me because I'm truly a ' do it yourself' kind of girl, but with a dog this tiny, I'd put him in my kitchen sink, love him up and soap him down. Five mins max he would be running around with the post-bath Zoomies!
FUN! Eyes are the easiest to do all by yourself. Just take a scissors and trim!
A professional groomer knows how to trim eyes. You don't need to tell her how. It's just a trim

The illustration you need is contained in this post:

You will have to copy and past in your browser. Not onto the new tablet yet,

I trim the part between Maddie's eyes with round tipped scissors in the shape of an upside down V.

Oh wow...show her some pictures of doodles who's faces you like.  I just did Gracie's eyes and snout the other day.  Never shave the bridge of the nose or snout.  I sort of take the area along the bridge of the nose and cut it like a triangle and then I take the upper part and comb it forward into bangs and with my curved scissors trim across blendind down the sides of her temple into the cheeks.  Each dog is so different.  Check out Fs Calla and Luca.  I love their faces.  I think it is Luca who has more of a brow ridge and he has the cute fringe across his eyes.  It really depends on how the hair grows and the directions. Gracie has very soft floppy hair and so it doesn't stand up on it's own.  Good luck and just remember...it will always grow back!

Here are Calla and Luca
