The Royal Wedding!

Well, I had hoped to get up at 4 am to start watching the Royal Wedding, but even for royalty, I could not get up that early. Around 6 am I turned on the TV and was just in time to see the Queen making her way to the church. What a beautiful bride Kate Middleton turned out to be and I hope she and William have a more loving marriage than his parents. I can not believe it has been thirty years since Charles and Diana's wedding day and I remember it very clearly. I had only been married 3 years, no children yet, and my DH was a college student at Purdue and we were living in married student housing. I think I called in sick that day, so I would not miss a thing. Where in the world did the time go?

Thirty years later I am watching the TV with Fudge sleeping next to me. It feels right. Now, I just hope Fudge and Vern don't celebrate too much later in the day. After all, it is their first Royal Wedding!!

I so much wanted to watch the wedding at 2 am here. I set my alarm and everything, and thought it would be perfect to get up so I could get into the routine of working 2 nights, starting tonight. Well I must've been really tired because I woke up at 630am and mustve turned off my alarm without even knowing! UGH. So mad at myself.

I dont usually watch celebrity type things, but this really is a real life fairytale, and dangit I have to admit that I was a bit jealous. IIIII was supposed to marry William, guess Kate missed the memo, yeesh. LOL

OK Caitlin, Taylor, and Camilla...you guys are just too young! My son (28) mentioned on Easter that some of the girls he knows didn't get the whole hoopla either. Kris told them his Mom (ME) watched the royal wedding of Charles and Diana in the days that you had to actually get up and watch it in real time!!! I also watched and cried at her funeral. Prince William was born in 1982 and so was Kris...people used to tell me he looked like the Prince. Kris still has his hair though... thanks to his Momma's genes!

I agree Jane, I cried thinking of Diana missing this beautiful day and feeling for Prince William... :(

I loved Princess Diana and I cried too at her funeral. I don't know, but I think it is pretty neat that we can be a part of a royal wedding.

Beatrice and Eugenia looked like characters in those silly spoof movies. How unfortunate for them. Who let them go out lookng like that??? Mom attending or not!
