Charlie notices some of the very subtle sounds and knows exactly what that means!

Sound of poop bag unrolling ---- she hear this from another room and comes running! Time for walk!

Zipping up my briefcase -------------- I do my weekly paper work on Sunday night, and once I am done, I take it to the office to drop it off since its due every Monday morning. She hears this zzzzzz ! sound and knows its time for the car ride!

Chime sound the computer makes when I shut down --- Mom is done with the computer and is going to play with me!! She comes running with some sort of toy in her mouth!!

It never fails.. she could be comfortably sleeping on the couch, but when she hear these sounds, she knows!! How about your doodle?

Halas doesn't seem like he associates sounds with certain things, but he does make associations regarding other things.  I wear the same pair of running pants most of the time to flyball.  So whenever I put those pants on, he gets really excited.  If I tell him I'm putting them on for a different reason, he seems really disappointed.  He also isn't a fan of getting the Frontline applied to his back.  When I pull that out of his drawer, I give him his heartworm tablet first, and then I get the Frontline ready while he's eating that.  He can't see what I'm doing, but he must be able to smell it.  He eats the heartworm pill right away, but by the time I turn around with the Frontline, he's has already finished his treat, and run into the other room to go floppy on his back, so that I have to move him around to reach his back.  He just stays limp and floppy to make it more difficult.  And if I try to give him the Frontline first, he takes off as soon as I start to cut open the package.

Hilarious!

Aren't they smart!?

Seamus knows the sound of the kitchen cabinet as it opens and slams shut. That is where I keep the bully sticks and training treats. He maybe sleeping in the living room but will make a bee line for the kitchen whenever I open the cabinet:-)

Sam knows when I open the cheese bag! Instantly by my feet looking so well behaved and praying to his doggy Jesus for just one little piece. Usually I can't resist those eyes and cave! Also, both the Sam and Eli, know when I open my sock drawer. They usually come running into my room and know we are about to go for a walk!
Bender knows the sound of the cabinet door where I keep the treats. I have 3 cabinets in a row, one for cleaning products, one that has treats, another as a pantry. He knows the middle cabinet sound which is weird bc all 3 cabinets are the same. He knows dh's car sound when he gets home and the sound of his leash which means walk.
Zoe knows every sound but isn't so obvious about it.

The sound of a pill bottle being opened sends JD to his "hiding" place in the corner of the sectional sofa.

(Pssst, JD- there is no sectional sofa in the world big enough to hide you!)

AWWWWWWW!!!!!  Poor JD!!!!!

Trav used to hide in the bathroom, between the wall and the toilet, when he thought I would be trying to groom him.  It was so funny, as like JD he was visible to everybody but himself!  Now he'll just come over to me when I say 'grooming,' and aside from trying to lie on his back, he doesn't mind and doesn't try to hide.

How old was he when he didn't hide and started to like grooming?  Is there hope for me?????

4 year old Fozzie still runs to the nearest lap when I pull out a brush and a spray bottle.  It is so dang funny that it's hard to scold and correct him.

Wendy, he still doesn't like grooming, but he'll tolerate it now.  I was too enthusiastic about trying to get mats out when he was around a year old, and that's when he started hiding.  He hasn't had as many mats and I mostly just clip them out now, so he's forgiven me.  :)
