Okay...  I give up!  Can't say I didn't try though!  We just bought Tori a new toy, we'll call it a Valentine's gift.  It was made from "virtually indestructible" fire hose material.  Well, we played with it for a while with her, went in the other room for 5 minutes and there it was, with a great big HOLE in it.  Guess we'll just stick to balls and nylabones... HUH! so sad....

Is it blue with orange trim? At least I think Ringo's had orange trim on it! ;o)
I also was sold on the "virtually indestructible" label!
Yup! And it has a nice sturdy handle on it too for playing tug and throwing???? That's the one!!! Actually, they came in many colors. We got the orange with the blue trim. You can even put an empty water bottle in it for the great crunching sound she loves. Thought it would last longer than that indestructible dragon! I don't know.... I just don't get it... Didn't think those cute little teeth were that strong. Good thing we didn't buy that nice fuzzy pillow for her crate that my son wanted to get her. Right now she must have gotten tired because she's just laying her cute, little, destructive JAWS on it! LOL
I'm thinking a tractor tire might last a few minutes.
I paid $15 for an indestructible toy...Peri devoured in less than 5 minutes. So I am through with those toys! She gets old socks wrapped around water bottles now (free) and antlers. Oh well!
hmmm... what do you do with the socks and water bottles??? Do you freeze them??? Tori loves to play with (nd chew on) water bottles, but those too don't last. I found the Gatorade botles are thicker and last longer befroe they have to be taken away....
I just bought a new stuffed animal for Thomas for Valentines Day. He is humping it as we speak and trying to tear it to shreds. I just looked at him again... I guess he got tired out, he is lying on his side with his new friend wrapped in his paws. I keep telling him NOT to destroy it and he seems to be listening for now. BUT...I give this thing maybe 1 day before there is stuffing all over the place. Why do I do this?? Oh what the heck, it is fun.
I hear you...I'm also totally done with those expensive "indestructible toys". Guinness gets obsessed with ripping them apart. I have to watch him like a hawk to be sure he doesn't swallow the pieces. I agree it's sad, because it's so much fun for them. The only thing he hasn't managed to chew is the big black Kong. He keeps trying, but he hasn't been able to break a piece off of that one yet.
Please do not give Nylabones ! My daughter has paid several thousand dollars to veternary dental specialist resulting from the removal of cracked teeth due to Nylabone. She has two dogs and both had dental problems. When she contacted Nylabone they acknowledged a problem and offered a settlement of some $3000.00. Her expenses were more then double that. Do a search for Nylabone on Doodlekisses and then if you go to the net you will find several articals on the subject. We do use Antlers for chewing. They are sterile, last forever, do not get sticky and aid in dental care. My Doodle can not break pieces off and loves them.
Try CET Pet Chews, Do not use rawhide. Pet chews are digestable, made from vegetables and aid in dental care, satisfy the need to chew and are healthy. Rawhide can not be digested and can get caught in the stomach.
I tried the antlerz and Moose and Jack ate them in an hour. I thought they would last at least a week.
OH NO!!! I was just in Pet Smart getting food and almost bought another nylabone! I thought they were supposed to be good for their teeth. As we give Tori mostly canned with some kibble mixed in. I gave my golden rawhide and he would swallow such a big piece and come out either end just the way it went in...What's a mommy to do???? I did hear that the antlers splinter too?????. Do the CET Pet chews break easily???. We gave her the treat you put into the blue ball - kinda' like the KONG treats, but she got so thirsty from it and then when she finished it (in a few days) got sick. Actually my husband wanted to buy her this real bone at the Dog show today, but they scare me too... Oh well..... Maybe some day someone will invent a great chew toy until then I guess I'll have to keep spending money and keep a watchful eye on her
Hi, Could you tell me where you get the Antlers? There are so many websites out there. Thank you, Laurie
We use plastic milk jugs, left-over boxes of any kind( mashed potato boxes, cereal boxes etc) , large cardboard boxes, the round tops off of food containers ( frisbees)

Yep, all these are destructible. If you can't beat them, join them! :) They last an hour, takes away from the Bordon and cost nothing. Trash. But what is one mans trash is another dogs treasure.
