Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I took Lan to the park today and she did great. She was very happy and met lots of dogs, including another Labradoodle who looked nothing like her! I'm guesssing it wasn't an ALD as it looked completely different, bone structure wasn't even the same, and wasn't at all friendly. I don't see many labradoodles and it made me realize just how vastly they can differ in appearance and temperment wise. Also, it was kind of funny because for some odd reason a lot of people ask me if Lan is a standard poodle... I don't even think she looks like a poodle. Do other labradoodle owners get this question a lot?

not one person has guessed right on Chloe yet. ive had tons of goldendoodle instead of Labradoodle(what she is)
No idea why they thinks this
It's because of her color. I get the same thing with Jack.
Mostly people ask me if Darwin is a Wheaton, although he is much bigger than one. Either that or sheepdog...
I get that too.
We always got sheep dog when Chester had long hair..
I've had Irish Wolfhound, Bearded Collie, Otterhound (which is a good guess, he looks like one), Goldendoodle, and one person was savvy enough to guess Italian Spinone (he looks like one of those, too).
I met a Spinone and asked if she was a doodle - ooooooooppppppssssss! I got a lecture on that one. At least I now know that Spinones are not common in the U.S. and are mostly imported as well as being great dogs.
Haha, I love. I got just the opposite question today.
They ARE great dogs. The first ones I met (on Carmel Beach), I asked if they were labradoodles also. I had my first labradoodle and a standard poodle with me. She explained nicely that they were Spinones and we became friends. Our dogs loved each other - in fact Diva was Hondo's first dogfriend. He took her a rose in his mouth for Valentine's Day and it was a great hit on the beach. I still think they look like goldendoodles or labradoodles.
This is a new dog for me! I can see why they might be mistaken for a doodle.
