Haley threw up this morning just before breakfast. DH said nothing in it but one piece of grass. He at breakfast; over an hour later we played ball for awhile; came in then at lunch time we played ball for 5 minutes (my choice as it was hot); came in and then at 3PM he threw up again. This time it was two pieces of undigested kibble and (forgive the description) brownish ucky slime. He has been peeing and pooping normally. My question is how much Pepcid AC to give a 65 pound doodle? What I have on hand is 10 mg.
Also, I will give him chicken and rice for dinner and take him to the vet tomorrow if he is not better.

Jackdoodle has been vomiting a lot lately; three or four times over the past few days. It's usually his whole last meal, undigested. I don't know if it's the heat, the humidity, or what. He's eating, drinking, and eliminating normally, and seems just fine otherwise. This has happened before, and it's one of the few things that doesn't send me running to the vet. I normally don't even give him antacids, but when I do he gets one 20 mg Pepcid AC and he weighs about 80 lbs.

I'd watch Haley for any other signs of illness, but otherwise I wouldn't worry. One 10 mg Pepcid is probably fine for his weight.

Thanks Karen.  It has been very hot and humid here the last few weeks with only one or two day breaks.  And, because of the heat not as much exercise as Haley usually gets.  I will watch him for anything else unusual.

I would call the vet and ask.

Hope he feels better soon!

Sunny throws up yellow stomach bile in the morning if she runs too hard on an empty stomach, and sometimes she throws up just because.

In that case I just feed her something and calm her down.

Hope Haley is feeling better soon.  My guys do this sometimes after drinking really fast or to much and the heat/humidity get to them too.

From my experience with a frequent vomiter after the initial incident it can take up to a day before the stomach settles.  If Daze eats not long after throwing up, it is almost guaranteed that she will get sick 3-4 hours later.

This is probably not directly related, since Haley threw up again later in the day, but my largest doodle often vomits bile in the morning--usually around 5 or 6 am, before i am up to feed her. I have been told that she needs to have a snack later in the evening so that she will have some food in her stomach and will have an easier time getting to breakfast without the vomiting. I try to remember to do that and it does help.
Wilson threw up yesterday, but it was so very humid out I think that was the reason and yesterday he was a very very lazy doodle laying around all day, and not asking me for anything which is unusual!!!  But when my DH and I came home from going out to dinner, he was his Happy Doodle self,   I think the humidity really got too him good !!!!  And his throw up was grass !
