Samantha was due for a bath today..and boy did she get one! haha! It's not that she doesn't enjoy baths..we just have a little too much fun in the water sometimes lol! Anyway as I type, Sami is cuddled up on some warm towels showing her kong ball who's boss. Usually when I dry Sam I use a LOT of towels and when I need to speed things up I put the hairdryer on low and cool, luckily Sam isn't afraid of it. I thought I'd ask some of you to share how you get your doodle dry after a scrub down?..and show  some pictures of Sami Post Bath :D (post yours if you have any!)

I use the blow dryer if I need him to dry quickly. I've used it on him since he was a puppy so he's not afraid. I try not to do it unless I absolutely need to because I've heard it dries out their skin, but it does help him to not mat and his hair is so soft and fluffy after!

Tara seems to be cold after her baths this time of year. We set up a blanket covered with a flannel sheet and a bunch of towels on the floor for her to rub on. Then we have a small space heater on one side of it and the hair dryer on the other side (set on a basket about 8-9  inches off  the ground). Both pointing inward toward her and we just let them run for a while. She will lay or sit right between them for quite awhile and as she gets drier she will come and go from her "area" if she starts getting cold or too warm.

Sami is cute.

Echo and I usually go to a dogy wash, they have the professional dryers that blow room temp to warm air. I love them! I so want one for at home use. I do occasionally wash Echo at home, then I use a ionic hair dryer that has a "cool shot" button. That, after using towels to dry him off a bit. I only use 2 bath towels and spend most of my dry time with a brush and the hair dryer.

Thank you!

I think we have the same hair dryer! Mine has a little switch for "ionic" and a cool shot button..I've never really been sure what those "ions" did for my hair though...LOL

We go outside and play fetch! He dries in the sun and with the dry air we have here, he is air dried in no time. When it's too cold to go outside, it;s a bunch of towels, some air drying and then finish off with a cool blow dryer.  Murphy's hair, altho he has a lot of it, it is fine and almost fleece like, so it drys quickly.

Bella's is thick and coarser and takes a bit longer, but I do the same as above with her.

I am lucky that Buddy is only about 30 pounds.  As silly as it sounds, I swaddle him.  After I bathe him and squeeze off the excess water.  I wrap him in a couple of towels so that he is all covered and can't move then I hold him on my lap for a bit.  He actually falls asleep (I think it is the warmth).  The towels help soak up the remaining water and then I use the hair dryer a bit and he is dry.  We also keep his hair relatively short about an inch.

How sweet. I would be soaked it I tried to cuddle my 66 pd wet mop dog!  Keeping it shorter does make a big difference though.  Would love to hold Murphy till he fell asleep, but he has such a bad case of the zoomies when he's wet that I can hardly catch him. That's why we go outside and play catch for 30 min of so.

Me too:)

We had a Cavalier I used to do that with. He loved it and fell asleep, too. Kona is 94 pounds. My daughter gave Owen (14 wks) a bath and he fell asleep in her arms wrapped up in a beach towel. This will not be possible for long.

Lots of towels for Cooper!  This time of year I throw them in the dryer to warm them up for him a bit.   He doesn't mind the blowdryer too much if I give him an antler or something to chew on.  Thanks for sharing the photos of Samantha's bath.  They were so cute!

Daisy is going for a wash and blow today - but at home it's towels...she just barks at the dryer and she has a big deep bark, not worth the drama.

Today's visit will be the first where she doesn't actually get a cut....trying to keep her longer for the season, keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well. I wish I could do this at home but we really have not place for it where the 3 of us are comfortable. We keep her brushed in small increments of 15 minutes, that's a lot of increments for this curly, big dog. Usually takes 2 days every 3 days or so.

Sam your face is to die for - doodle kisses to that nose of yours.
