Well, Riley's hair has been growing and growing. No mats yet but he looks like a big bear. I love that natural look so I was just into a tidying up sort of grooming session and today was the day. I'm known for my impatience and my gusto so I was trying hard not to be over zealous. All was going well until I decided to take the hair under his ears very short to let the air at them. I popped on the number 10 blade and well...went a little too far...right down to the skin to be exact. The good news that even though he is totally nude under one ear you can't actually see it unless he's running or his ear flicks back. The bad news is that I haven't told his Dad yet. So here is the question. Do I tell him before he finds the bald patch or say nothing. He goes mad with me when he sees all my grooming tools coming out anyway! Riley is totally cool with the whole thing. The rest of him looks fine. I feel awful. It's dinner time soon I was thinking of getting out a nice bottle of wine and cooking a lovely meal for Riley's Dad?
UPDATE***
Well, dinner is over, the wine is gone but coward here couldn't say a word. Here are two pictures I just took with my iPhone so not great. The second is my best (drunken) attempt at the bald spot... (you try holding up an ear and taking a pic at the same time ; ) )
BTW he hasn't noticed anything yet and Man and dog have been playing on the floor for ages.

Id wait and see if he notices... men arent the most observant species in my experience!
I always tell first but my DH never gets mad at me anyway. He, however, tries to hide stuff he's done and that in itself makes me very angry. I would prefer he tell me before I find out on my own. And, it is just hair and will grow ou.t
Hmmmm, how about a good lie? Lets see, "Oh my goodness you would not belieive what Riley got into today (insert awful thing here). It was so bad I HAD to shave the fur under his ear!
Awful thing examples: gum, burrs, tar, sap, wax
Now this I like. lol Or, I'd say nothing at all, in my case Monty is MY dog, DH doesnt get much say. :)
Tell, but softening him up with a glass of wine and Hors D'Oeuvres might help!
Remember when your kids found the scissors and cut their own hair? Just tell him Riley got into the grooming tools today. I could dress Fudge and Vern up in Purple wigs and my DH would probably not notice until I pointed it out to him :)
LOL....you're DH and Mine must be related Laurie. I think To Tell is in order Nicky.....it'll grow out....and you can both enjoy the wine.
And you would too.
Perfect explanation, Laurie.
I would let it be. You did nothing really bad and in two weeks no one will notice. Men are entirely capable of overlooking anything for that length of time.
Don't say anything! :-)
