Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
As I posted a few weeks ago, we recently rescued a pup from the shelter. Before we adopted him, they told us that he had an injury to one of his eyes presumably from being hit by a car and was now blind in that eye. They also said that depending on how the eye healed, it may have to be removed at a later date. Today is that day.
I'm a nervous wreck. I don't think I slept more than 3 hours total last night. All the "what if's" are going through my head. It's going to be a very long day.
Little did I know that I could become so attached to a dog that I have only known for such a short time.
Please send good thoughts to Murphy today.
UPDATE #1: 3:15 pm-The vet just called. The surgery is over and Murphy is starting to wake up. He said everything went well. They will keep him overnight to monitor him for signs of hemorrhaging. If everything goes well tonight, I can pick him up tomorrow.
Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers!!!
UPDATE #2: Thursday: Brought Murphy home yesterday afternoon. I'd attach a picture but he currently looks like something out of a horror movie with the bandage, some stitches exposed, the swelling, partially shaved face and the satellite dish. The bandage comes off in a week and then a week later he stitches will be removed. He sleeps most of the time right now due to the pain meds, which is ok because it solves the problem of how to keep Cooper from trying to play with him. It's going to be a long 2 weeks but all should be good after that.
Thanks again for all the good thoughts, wishes and prayers.

Glad he was able to come home. Wishing him a speedy recovery!
I am very glad the surgery went well and soon Murphy will be back to a happy doodle life.
Thanks for the update. I do hope that Murphy bounces back after this surgery which I'm hoping will be then end of everything awful in his life from here on in. I look forward to more updates, a quick recovery and lots of pictures when the time is right.
Glad to hear Murphy is home and recovering.
