Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Happy to report that things are much better now. Just like Laurie told me, I've probably gotten used to the "new normal".  Auggie is one happy boy that loves to follow his big brother everywhere and bite his ears, neck, and tail. Poor Monty seems to enjoy it and lets the little rascal get away with almost everything. We have not had any more accidents in the house for few days (knock on wood), but we are still not trusting Auggie. Just watching him closely. He learned the sit and down commands, he is laying down when his food is being prepared. Loves the backyard and running through all the bushes where his big brother can't fit. Two more weeks until his second round of shots and then we will start a puppy socialization class so that he learns to play with puppies his age. I think Auggie is a keeper. :-)

Honestly, I can't wait till the puppy days are over. :-)

The main reason I decided to adopt an adult dog the last time around was because I didn't want to deal with the puppy stuff. Of course, now I would give anything to have known Jackdoodle as a puppy. :)

As a first time dog owner, I was scared to adopt. Plus, there are no rescue doodles in Colorado. I guess it's a good thing. Starting with a "clean slate" sounds great, but it's still a lot of work since you need to "write a lot" on the clean slate.

awww I bet Jack Doodle was a stunning puppy.. He was meant for you....I don't even know him but I love him... and I am not just saying that......

I am pretty sure Jack is going to be my one and only dog since he prefers to be an only doodle... Of course we may get Molly some day or He may go to my mom's one day..depending... but if I was to every get another dog, I would not get a puppy, I happen to really like the puppy stages..I enjoyed it immensely with Jack and also with Molly. I love everything about the puppy stages, I think I would try to rescue a dog.....

I would want to get a dog that would be hard to adopt, one that was old and lost its owners... That just had a few years left to live or one that was deemed less desirable.  That would do my heart a lot of good to love on a dog like that... but as long as Jack is alive.. he will be an only doodle if I can help it..he just likes it....

Looks like you're shrinking. hahhahah

Big changes it sound and looks like. How fast they grow!

I love the chair pictures for comparison. Such a cutie! Glad to hear it is settling down for you. It does get better.

So happy to hear that you seem to have turned a corner with Auggie! He is getting so big so fast! What a cutie pie.

Just relax into this good feeling because it will change... up and down again. Lots of hugs.

OMD those feet! It looks like he's wearing bedroom slippers!

I think they should have a new show on TV - Puppy Survivor.  It could show contestents as they try to crate, potty and leash train crazy puppies - while getting no sleep!  So glad that you have survived your own go round - it isn't easy!!!  Auggies is such a doll and growing like a weed!!!!

Very good to hear things are going better.
I love the side by side photo & only 2 weeks...Look at the changes in him!

Once all the dust settles when getting puppy #2 and everyone gets into the swing of things it all works out.  My Sasha was 10 months old when I got Oliver.  They were best of friends right off the bat and he followed Sasha around.  Of course he had his own likes and dislikes and of course he would get into trouble but after a couple of months he settled and knew his place and everything is good.

I can believe how much Auggie grew in just two weeks !!!!  He is so cute :)
