Want to know frantic thought going through Clark’s head as he chased Rosco down the street?

"This dog has GOT to get trained!

(There might have been some more colorful thoughts too… but this is a family site!)

There is nothing more scary than your beloved dog being in danger and STILL not paying attention to you when you frantically call him.  We were really scared for Rosco.  He was chasing this little chihuahua and NOTHING we did could make him stop.  Where he ran was only determined by where this little dog ran.  So they all ran across a busy street THREE times before the little dog ran into his house with Rosco hot on his heels.  Us humans were just a distraction from his chase game.  Cars?  Danger?  Ha!  There’s another dog to chase!

Clark was now more motivated than ever to make sure our dogs were trained.  It really had been a matter of life and death… and we were lucky.  Not trained.  Lucky.

We are doing a live webinar on dog training this coming Sunday evening with an internationally known dog trainer.  Doodle Kisses Spring Training 2014!  It will be Sunday evening May 26 25 (oops!) at 6:30 PST (9:30 Eastern).  It will be live and you can ask questions, give feedback, or just make snide remarks. We want for you to fix any dog training problems you might have.  This webinar will get you started.

We recently ran a survey about dog training and, not surprisingly, a good recall was also your biggest concern.  The “magic wand” dog training issue you wanted to cure was:

Come! 100% of the time.”, Better recall!”, “Instant recall”, “A consistent and reliable "come" response”, “100% reliable COME!”... it goes on and on.

Over the next couple of days we will reveal the top dog training problems you guys reported in your hundreds of responses to our training survey.

Do two things today:

1) Block off the time Sunday night to join us all in a big webinar about dog training with a real expert.

2)  Tell us your horror stories about what has happened to you because of your dog not coming when called.

I’ll tell you the next biggest training problem from our survey results tomorrow,

Adina

PS.  Why do “horror stories” and “near misses” make such good stories after all the excitement has died down?  Let’s hear yours.  :-)

Oops.  It's on the 25th, Sunday night.  There will also be a recording which can be watched if you sign up for the original webinar... more details on everything tomorrow.

I will try to tune in. This is the most important command to get 100% compliance.

How do I access the webinar?

Since I am a tech challenged, could you post directions for the webinar??

The only way I can catch Willy when he gets out is to drive my van down the street with the back door open, (beep beeping the whole way) until I catch up to him. Then he stops, comes over to the van and hops in the back. Crazy. It is a dangerous proposition to have them loose on the street, and when all three get out, it is a nightmare, because they all have their own method of letting me catch them. Willy the van, Daisy has to see her leash before coming to me, and LiLi keeps running, occasionally looking back at me, until I get in front of her, then she will turn around and head home, but won't let me catch her and pick her up.

I really need to have a good recall for all three,.SO Sunday night definitely will be helpful.

Thanks Adina. And Clark

I am so glad Rosco is ok. I am sure this was terrifying. Recall is our problem, too! I will try and tune in!

Tech challenged here -- may I have details on how to join the webinar? Thx!
I certainly will try and sign in for this. It is perfect timing! Max has done well with his basic training but the other day I had him at work with me. I took him out and let him off leash, like I always do in the grassy open space, but this particular day at the end of our walk when I called to put him back on, he looked at me, turned and ran across the street! It is in an area where there are several restaurants and gas stations so lots of cars but thankfully they were stopped at the light. The more I called him and people started getting out of their cars to help, the more panicked he became. I finally opened the car door and he jumped in. It was very scary and could have been deadly! I used to have a magic word "NOW" (which meant no fooling around!) with my other dog and it always got his attention but Max doesn't respond to that word.i look forward to listening in.

How would I join the the webinar?

It's interesting because my "naughty" dog (aka Murphy) has a reliable recall....I totally trust him off leash.  Guinness who normally is the "goody goody Doodle"  can get distracted by anyone talking in a high pitched voice and telling him he's cute.  He will follow a "gushing" pretty girl anywhere and leave me in the dust. I wish the webinar was a bit earlier, but I will definitely sign up so I can watch the video.

Is there a link or instructions to join the webinar? Additionally if I can't get on the call is there a replay available and if so how can I access it?
Thank you ! Great topic can't wait !

How do I participate in the call on Sunday evening?
