Are the insides of your doodle's ears warm? Noah's ears feel like they're radiating heat off of them. I've never really noticed this before. They don't look infected or red, nor do they particularly smell. Sherlock's ears are much cooler, but maybe that's because they're much smaller than Noah's ears.
Gavin's ears are always very warm. I think overall he feels the heat alot. The past few days its just been a bit warmer here and he is panting and stretching out on the tile. I would think it's just their way of expelling excess heat. I hate to think what he will be like once it's summer! I always check the colour too and they are pale pink.
Quincy's ears are always very warm and he has a dry warm nose most of the time and he is perfectly healthy. So I guess not all the old sayings are true.
Both of mine aways have really warm ears. I think they lose some of their body heat this way. But those lovely warm ear canals are why the yeast and bacteria are so happy when they get going.
Dustin's ears always feel like they're on fire, but Fens are never hot like that. I actually had them in the vet for a tummy bug several months ago and asked about this but the vet wasn't concerned nor did he haveany infections. I guess some doggies just have hotter ears. Dustin is a goldendoodle too so maybe that's the difference. Not sure though.
Bear's ear insides are very warm too. I used to think that must be what a hot spot was, but they were always warm and not bothering him. But he absolutely loves that part of his ears rubbed. That melts his heart.
I just checked out GracieDoodle's ears and they are hot. She has big ol' floppy ears and they are always hot. Her tummy is always hot too but she is perfectly healthy!!
