What is your doodle's weirdest habit?

Has this question come up yet? While reading the bed discussion, it made me think of Riley's bad habit. She waits until we are ready to sleep and starts chomping on her nails. Thankfully she is in her bed but it is so gross to hear. Crunch..crunch..crunch... The silver lining is that we don't have to clip nails much. :-/

Jaxson loves to lay/ sleep UNDER furniture - like the coffee table, dining table and the COUCH even though he barely fits!

The other thing he does after going potty before bedtime is that he will not come back into the house on his own. He waits for me to pick him up and carry him inside to his crate. Has to be me, he will not let my husband pick him up, he will run away! It has to be me! And he is not a mini, he weighs just under 35 pounds! We know we're bad and should break him of this habit but it's funny and has become kind of endearing!

We have a ball with him! Aren't doodles fun?

I've learned dogs are a ton of work but their personalities are so endearing. The goofy and lovey things they do either make you laugh or melt.

[Jessica, Loki and Moose]

Loki will sleep in the bath tub, usually he goes there if something is scaring him, usually a storm, and sometimes will relax so much that he falls asleep in there. The trouble is, when I then get up in the morning and turn the shower on I get almost knocked over but a now loud and cranky doodle hurrying to get out of the way. I have since learned to check the shower (and turn on the lights!) before turning the water on. 

Moose will sit for hours (if I let him, which I don't) and lick the door wall glass, but it results in the squeaky noise like your cleaning a shower door. The neighbors probably get a kick too.

Cranky doodle...that's funny. They do ave some odd licking obsessions that's for sure. Riley loves to lick your hands after putting on lotion...even if it is non-scent lotion. So weird...

So does Myla!  She would lick it all off if I let her and if I put lotion on my feet before bed and then walk on the floor to turn off the light, she will lick the floor!

I can just picture the bathtub morning scenario; love it!  Hmmm. . .  perhaps if you give Moose a cloth he will follow up the licking with swiping dry.

What a fun discussion!

I was just watching Myla sleeping on the couch and noticed another strange habit - she always sleeps with her head hanging off of the couch!  It just looks so uncomfortable!

I think the contorted dog position (on back, legs in the air, head craned the other way) is hysterical as it looks sooooo uncomfortable but they seem to love it.

We have always made Riley do a down stay until we say it is "ok" to eat. She has always been submissive so if she started eating and I leaned in, she would back up. Now even if I say ok she still waits. I have to pretend to eat the food first before she will eat these days.

Another one is that we often make her stay by the door to dry off. There are times when she goes to lay by the door and seems to forget she went there on her own. She will look at us to see if she can move when it was her idea. We laugh that she puts herself in timeout.

Belle loves all things paper, and routinely takes stuff out of my to-be-shredded container and shreds it herself, which could be useful except instead of putting it neatly in the basket of the shredder, she flings it all over the floor.  Her very favorite, though, is a tissue; I have to stand on a step stool to blow my nose or she leaps up and grabs it right out of my hand.  Yuk. .

Funny how we change our behavior because of our pets. They have us trained well! :-)

[Lori, Daphne, Lucy & Pippa]

Pippa is my quirky little one! She has a load of habits that I have no idea where she got them. She is almost cat like. She loves to rub her head up and down my leg when I walk across the room. Its odd but I love it, its so endearing. She also likes to go back and forth under my legs if I am sitting and there is space (like a tunnel) between my legs and the couch. Like a cat rubbing on your legs.

My Dad is mostly bald  and when he visits, she lays on the back of the couch and licks his head. It is hysterical to watch. Like she has to clean his head for him.
