Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Thanks everyone who joined Adina & I for the live dog training webinar! A very special thanks to our trainer Doggy Dan for sharing so much good stuff. Adina is off to put the kids to bed so I'll wrap this up.
What did you think?
Again, thank you! We know it's not easy to free up an evening on a holiday weekend. :-)
We're sorry we couldn't address every question you guys asked in chat. You had some great questions and we just couldn't get to them all.
What I really like about Dan since getting to know him is that NOTHING is off limits. He doesn't hold anything back and say "You have to subscribe to my website to get that answer." Nope. He will give you the best answer he possibly can every time. And tonight he laid out his method. As you saw, he is passionate about the transformations that take place in our dogs when WE are the pack leaders. He has shown that the basis of solving every problem is being the pack leader and the trusting relationship with our dogs that comes from that.
I thought the content was killer. The production values? Not so much. But I really don't care too much that Adina and I were in our garage (really!) and Dan was in his spare bedroom. This was about answering your questions and giving you as much value as we possibly could. I think we did that in spades. Could we cover everything in an hour? Nope.
And that's why Dan's video site is so helpful. You can try it out for $1 and watch over 250 videos on all aspects of dog training. Dan is a full time trainer and has run across most every problem you can imagine. The best part is he has taped his interaction with these dogs and given us the solution to solve them for ourselves.
So check out his website. He has given DK members a $1 trial and then $10 off. This offer is only good until Wednesday night. Thanks Dan!

Cheers!

I agree that content is more important than production values. Thanks for arranging this. Clark you did a great job of giving this webinar some structure and direction. Adina you looked great! Dan seemed like a nice person and a competent trainer. If I really wanted to change my dogs behavior much I would look into doing more internet based training. I will check out the site for $1 anyway and take a chance at winning a fabulous prize : )
Thanks so much for putting the webinar together and for finding new and innovative ways to deliver engaging content to members. I learned a lot, and I thought once all the techy stuff got sorted out and everyone got into a comfort zone things really rolled along smoothly. It can't be easy putting yourself out there like that and trying something new in front of over a hundred people live, so Kudos to you both and Dan too for giving it a try. Dan might need to work on his sales pitch a little, but then, he's a passionate and talented dog trainer not, a salesman and that's totally ok with me. I'm sorry there was so much negativity in the chat. I personally think that person needs to be banned from the internet.
I'm going to give his website a try. He clearly knows what he's talking about, and the price is certainly reasonable. My dog training school charges around $150 for a 6 week class and then it's done. I could subscribe to all his content for 6 months at that rate and have access to all the tutorials at my finger tips.
Thanks Clark and Adina for giving us access to such a great trainer. I couldn't believe how fast that hour flew by!! I came away with a couple of ideas to try out with Tara. I would say that I can't wait for a chance to try them out but that would mean I'd be wishing for her to misbehave! LOL. Never fear, I know I will be getting an opportunity soon enough!
As far as production values goes it meant nothing to me. Really, I was just there to learn as much as I could and honestly didn't even notice what was going on in the background.
I plan to use the opportunity to peruse his site for $1.00-who can pass up that deal? Thanks again guys!
I really enjoyed the program, except for one very negative person in the chat. The production had a "home made" flavor, which was fine with me. After all, this is DK and it was offered to all members at no cost whatsoever. I picked up some useful tips and will spend one dollar (what a deal) to see what else I might learn.
Well I agree with Ricki, the time FLEW by. I really enjoyed the webinar and felt the content and training style really aligned with my sensibilities. Thanks for bringing this to us. I look forward to more :)
I agree. The "chat" was very distracting and annoying. I don't see how any of those people could even listen to what was being said, they were so busy arguing amongst themselves.
Yeah... we will have to rethink the chat portion. It was really only one person causing problems. But it was a distraction for others. Even the positive things in the chat were a distraction.
Chat is fantastic for making the event "live" and being able for us to respond to questions on the fly... not so much for opinionated comments. I thought it was obvious to all that Adina and I could see the chat comments (since we were responding to them)... but one negative nelly still felt compelled to say things about "this horrible webinar". (Umm... we're right here! We see what you write in chat.) She also promoted her own company (along with her link!) and told me "they can teach you how to do a MUCH BETTER webinar because quite honestly - this really is not good". OK. She has bigger issues than a webinar.
On the whole, I'm really happy with how the whole thing went. We were able to give hundreds of people a bunch of fantastic information for free. Great information that can positively change the way our dogs act. The weakest link of the webinar was me, but I'm perfectly happy with that arrangement as long as we give huge value to everyone that watches.

I was worried that maybe DoggieDan could see it too. It really wasn't very nice and you know, my Mama always said "if you can't say something nice..."
Totally agree!
I agree. I worried about the same thing. He was kind enough to give us an hour of his time for free.
