Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Thanks everyone who joined Adina & I for the live dog training webinar! A very special thanks to our trainer Doggy Dan for sharing so much good stuff. Adina is off to put the kids to bed so I'll wrap this up.
What did you think?
Again, thank you! We know it's not easy to free up an evening on a holiday weekend. :-)
We're sorry we couldn't address every question you guys asked in chat. You had some great questions and we just couldn't get to them all.
What I really like about Dan since getting to know him is that NOTHING is off limits. He doesn't hold anything back and say "You have to subscribe to my website to get that answer." Nope. He will give you the best answer he possibly can every time. And tonight he laid out his method. As you saw, he is passionate about the transformations that take place in our dogs when WE are the pack leaders. He has shown that the basis of solving every problem is being the pack leader and the trusting relationship with our dogs that comes from that.
I thought the content was killer. The production values? Not so much. But I really don't care too much that Adina and I were in our garage (really!) and Dan was in his spare bedroom. This was about answering your questions and giving you as much value as we possibly could. I think we did that in spades. Could we cover everything in an hour? Nope.
And that's why Dan's video site is so helpful. You can try it out for $1 and watch over 250 videos on all aspects of dog training. Dan is a full time trainer and has run across most every problem you can imagine. The best part is he has taped his interaction with these dogs and given us the solution to solve them for ourselves.
So check out his website. He has given DK members a $1 trial and then $10 off. This offer is only good until Wednesday night. Thanks Dan!

Thanks again! We'd love to hear what you thought about everything.
Cheers!

it was just as you described. Sophie was in an overly excited state and bouncing of the walls and me too. I took her by the collar under the chin as he demonstrated and calmly waited for her to sit and relax. She did, in a matter of seconds. I waited a few more seconds then released her and turned my back. She laid down on the ground, uttered an overly dramatic sigh, and stayed there.
Yes, it does work, but first I had to make them wear collars! LOL I seldom have collars on them when we are home - that is a changing!
Linda, that's a good point. I know some people, especially those with more than one dog, like to remove collars for safety reasons (to avoid entanglement). There should be a way to do it without a collar but a collar would probably make it easier.
Thanks again for organizing the webinar. I thought it was great! I am a firm believer that training lasts a lifetime and Chloe and I just finished another intermediate class with a new training facility. We learned a lot in the 6 weeks and I think that it is good to learn new things continually,.(We have been to 7 classes in 3 years). I signed up for the free trial and most likely will continue for at least a month.
Great webinar, lots of great stuff, I plan to check out the website for sure, thanks again so much for putting this on for us. :)
Thank you for organizing the webinar..I agree with the others. The hour FLEW by..maybe it was doggie dans smile…lol!! I also am trying one of his methods..I let our puppy out of the crate when she is wayyyy too over excited..so now I am waiting until she calms down before letting her out, b/c like Dan said, that sets up the demeanor for how she will act for the next few hours..over excited. I think everyone did their best as far as answering questions, and I had no complaints are far as production goes, I thought it was all wonderful! Thank you again!
I just got a chance to watch the video and I thought Dan was terrific. I have already heard several things that I am excited to try! The only thing I found distracting was how much Adina talked :) LOL
LOL!
I got in trouble for the same thing a lot in Kindergarten too. My name was always on the board for my jibber jabber ways.
Adina, I blame it all on Clark...I don't know why....I just do :)
