We've also used Muttluks with Lucy with good results. We originally bought them at PetSmart about 3 yrs ago and tried them on her for size, but I'm not sure they still carry them in stores. We got the high top type winter ones. Here's a link to a short video of her wearing them the first time... BTW, it took her a couple minutes to get use to them, but after that she was good to go!
We also have muttluks. Get the fleece lined ones. They also make "rain" boots which aren't for cold weather. The fleece lined ones have a sock portion that can come pretty far up the leg and is especially good for deep snow. The sock keeps snow and ice clumps from forming in their fur. My doodles are in the 50-60 pound range and wear size medium.
Do they like them? NO! But they wear them anyway. It takes we awhile to get them on. The velcro must be attached snugly or they will pull off in snow. We only use them for especially frigid temps or deep snow.
thx guys...will get some this week-end for her.....
I ordered some a couple of years for all of my dogs from Baxter Boo. I think I paid $15-20 for each set. They have held up well. We don't use them a lot but I don't worry about them losing them in the snow.
Yeah... I have 11 boots. :) Every once in awhile, one will come off and I have to backtrack to find it. But once you order and extra set, you have some spares!
And Ruffwear has a sale. Look up my latest discussion with the promo code.
We love our fleece lined Muttluks. They stay on well even with high speeds. The snow turns my doodles into demons. They just love it! The boys got used to them very quickly and the boots come in handy in these frigid days.
Love the video of Lucy sporting the mudluks...No snow here, yet, but I am sure we will have some at one point or another. I love to watch Quincy play in it, but I could do without the snowball covered doodle part!
