Hello doodle lovers, can you please help me?
Bailey isn't feeling well and I don't know why. He hasn't been himself today, not coming to welcome me when I got home for example. His stomach feels weird, hard and swollen like a ballon. He drinks more water than normal. Also he started whining today and showing he wanted to go outside. Even though it wasn't long since his last pee, I took him outside. He pulled my leech and immediately lifted his leg. He's usually very picky about his peeing spots. He peed for a very long time and for just an hour ago he did the same thing again. Does anyone know what might be happening?

Please get him to your Vet ASAP.      This sounds like it could be Bloat.....very SERIOUS and DANGEROUS condition.

Please take Bailey to the vet ASAP. A hard swollen stomach can be a sign of a very serious health issue.

Thank you so much for the replies, however we don't feel as worried anymore. Bailey's urine looks healthy and he still has an appetite. The vet clinic is closed at the moment, but we have called a vet and described the situation. She said that it doesn't sound like something serious but we'll still keep an eye on him. Will keep you guys updated.

He could have resolved it, but could also have a blockage--try to take him in for a look even if he is acting normal, OK? Bloat kills!

Yes, it killed the father of one of my best doodles.  And it is quick.  Don't chance it.

Check with your vet.  It could be bloat or blocked intestines.  The quicker you get this resolved the better.

This could very well be bloat which is extremely serious. I wouldn't take any chances. If there is an emergency clinic I would take him there ASAP.

I lost a dog to bloat this past summer.  We took him to the vet as soon as we could but it was too late.  Please take him as soon as your vet opens, just to be checked.

How is Bailey doing?  Is he eating and drinking?? I hope he is better.

Having a stomach hard and balloon like is not normal.  I know my vet would want to see the dog asap - like within 30 minutes.  I hope this is not the case with your doodle.  If Bailey starts acting lethargic (and not wanting to move or get up), you will not have much time to act if it is in fact bloat.  They can die within 30 minutes or less.  Google "bloat".

Checking in to see if Bailey is doing better. <3

Hello everyone, I'm sorry I haven't told you earlier: Bailey is fine. His stomach feels healthy and his peeing routines are back to normal. He is happy and energetic. I suppose he might have eaten something unsuitable but he's good now. It warms my heart to see how you people care about my little sweetheart and I thank you for the comments.

Glad he is fine, and now you know the seriousness of a hard balloon like stomach. Bloat is always in the back of my mind as well with my two as it is an emergency. It didn't sound like Bailey was in as much distress as he would have been if it truly were a case of bloat, but it is definitely not something to waste any time with.
