Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We've discussed this before but I am serious - I need to know who might take my boys if something were to happen to both dh & I.  We are traveling out of the country this Saturday for a weeks vacation and I need to have peace of mind.  While we love our parents and children - not a one of them could take BOTH of my boys as they all have dogs of their own, they don't have time to devote or enough space.  If you:

1.  would love my boys as much as your own doodle(s)

2.  promise to never, ever split them up

3.  are mostly home and have the time  and space - Stuart is about 70 lbs now so please keep that in mind

4.  could organize a doodle train to get them from FL

I could leave them to their beloved dog sitter but I would rather them stay in a doodle/DK family if possible.  If you are serious please send me a private email and that way I can leave written instructions - just in case. **********************

I believe that the perfect candidate has stepped forward - I'm thrilled!!!  So now I can go about vacation with a happy heart!!!!  I'll be leaving her contact info with my daughter so that anytime in the future she can be contacted!!!!!  Our approved God-mother can out herself or not if she chooses.  Thanks for understanding my concerns everyone!

Jane, I know just how you feel....I worry about that a lot since I know neither of my daughters could take my guys.  They would take Guinness in a heartbeat...but Murph, not so much.  I'm of no help to you....my DH would rehome himself, and with Murph in the house it could be hazardous to R & S's health.  I'm sure you'll find someone perfect though....your Doods are the best!

Oh Jane, I wish I could say that I could...but we are a one dog family - mostly so that we can travel with our dog.  But I truly know where you are coming from and have thought often about the same thing.   There are so many GREAT people on DK I would love to have take Banjo in the event of devastating circumstances.    There is no one in our family that could give Banjo the care I would want for him.

I would take them in a heartbeat!!! Is there an application to fill out??

Doris rocks.

I know just how you feel. I think it gives me an extra incentive to keep plugging along. I have solved my dilemma, I hope by leaving money for the dogs in my will but given inflation I may need to increase that. That way one of my kids could afford to change their lives a bit t accommodate the dogs but it's really iffy. I wish I could offer to help but four is more than I could cope with. Y son would tell you that airplanes, and just about anything else, are less dangerous than taking a car ride, somehow this doesn't comfort me.

If I didn't have human children I totally would love it!

I totally understand wanting to keep them together. if I was home all the time id have them, but im 32 and just starting my career (again) and wouldnt be able to spend the time with 3 dogs as they need. I know there are people on here who can and would take them both

Jane-There's a ton of people who would love to have these 2 adorable doodles in their life! I was thinking that they could doodle train from FL to CA and settle in with her future family member Rua. There will be Dori AND her sister to love them!! Talk about a road trip!

Oh Dori would be a great doodle mom - if it were just Rooney.  Rua and Rooney would be to snuggle bugs but Stuart might be more than Dori could handle.  Difficult size wise too.  I hope we never have to utilize her but we did have a perfect candidate step forward.  Whew - Dori is off the hook.  lol!

I JUST saw this post...I AM the Doodle Mom for the job.  MY HEART would be broken if I didn't get both boys.

That is wonderful news and I'm sure all will be well.

Darn it....I am too late for this discussion. I would take them in a heartbeat....I can see it now...Laurie, Fudge, Vern, Rooney, and Stuart :) I am sure the person you picked is perfect!!!
