Grandkids:  I'm MUCH too young for grandkids :)

1st dog - Ruby - my wonderful red long-haired miniature dachshund who I still miss dearly - our 1st baby prekids

2nd dog - Bexter - my mini F1 goldendoodle - my baby boy, the "stinker" of the pack, but love him to death anyway

3rd dog - Maggie - my standard F1 goldendoodle - so far the best dog I've EVER seen or been around honestly

Married:  29 years

Kids: 24 year old son..he's an only!

Grandchildren: He's gotta find a wife first lol

Dogs:  Bailey (started out as mine is now ours)  first goldendoodle and won't ever go back to any other breed..

Winston (mine) I had him for 15 years.  He was a Spitz a poo...such a sweetie he was..

Honey (childhood dog)  She was a "Florida brown dog"...a mutt...we had her for 18 years...she was a great dog

Cats:  2 named Kitty..yes I know it's pathetic but hey, it worked for us.  Had them for 13 and 14 years..

Marital status:  After a divorce I was single for 20 years.  Then met my current husband and we lived in sin for 10 years (OMD) !!  And then, we decided to get married.  This September will be our 6th anniversary!

Children: 5 between us (DH has 3 and I have 2)

Grandchildren: 4

Granddogs:  Bella (my daughter's Alaskan Malamute) and Schmitty (my son's German Shephard/Mastiff mix)

Our Dogs:

  • Angie - a wonderful poodle/maltese mix that I had growing up.  She lived to be 16.
  • Wilbur - a beautiful black standard poodle my husband and I got when we were first living together.  Unfortunately we lost him at 6.5 years to IMHA and it broke out hearts. (more my dog than his I think)
  • And, two months later when we were talking with an ALD breeder and she emailed us some photos of a litter that had been born the same day we lost our Wilbur (12-10-2010).  There in the males was the sweetest face in the world and he became our Charlie Brown.  (I have done the training with him, but my husband spends many hours throwing ball, etc.  I would say we are a three-some!
  • I think Charlie may be getting a sister or brother doodle in the near future!

OOOOO, we multiple dog owners wish you the best in that endeavor.

Thanks Nancy.  I have never had two dogs at one time and it makes me a little nervous just thinking about it.  Os that an omen!! LOL

I'm totally with you, but we are making the plunge, LOL.

Looking forward to hearing about your and Monty's experiences with adding a new little one!

I think we will always have two now that we have had them paired up.  When Tracy got Bruno for her puppy, they were totally bonded and when she died (old age) he was so upset he cried until he lost his voice.  That is when we got started with doodles.  Now we always have two because it is so hard on the dogs who have been raised their whole lives with another dog.  This week I will get doodle number 3 as a short-term foster.  They have met and love each other right from the start.  Two is definitely better than one, but we will see with three.

Wow--great fun reading everyone's story--it brings back memories doesn't it!?

So, let's see- Marital Status: Married 34 years tomorrow!

Children:3 , 30, 28 (girls) and 20 y.o.(boy)

Dogs--I inherited my DH's 9 y. o. Bedlington Terrier, Norton with marriage--he lived until he was 13 yo

Teddy Bear, Lakeland terrier--also lived 13 years --my very first PUPPY (I was 30 when I got him)

Ted was a great family dog and was also shown and finished his AKC championship.

Louie Lamour, Wheaten Terrier lived 11 1/2 years Lou cured me of ever wanting another terrier--he

was NUTS, so much so that my DH wanted to quit having dogs altogether--but we "compromised" and

got a labradoodle and then we "compromised some more" and  now we have three!!

They are : Matilda, 5 years old a red F1 and the loveliest dog I have ever owned

Lyric, 4 years old, a great dog that has had two litters of wonderful pups for my breeder and

her son Rio 1 1/2 year old, a real sweetheart and momma's boy (momma would be me) who is a

stud dog for my breeder. I think my DH likes Rio the best.

Cats: Currently, I have three cats: Pickle, 18 1/2 y.o. adopted by my daughters as a kitten--the girls have moved out but the cat is STILL here!

Charlie Bear a feral cat who adopted us a year or so ago and his buddy Mr Big, another feral cat who is now a real sweetie and never leaves the yard.

All of the cats live outside with shelter in my basement when the weather is cold. They come and go as they please. Charlie is the only one who is not afraid of the dogs and strolls around inside the invisible fence area like he owns the place. My dogs find it very humiliating.

We have had COUNTLESS stray cats that have found refuge here over the years (too many to name!) and 5 others (Missy, Pumpkin, Pudgy, BC and Katrina) that we actually adopted on purpose--all are gone now.

Happy Anniversary

Thanks!!
