Hello DK! Just wanted to give you a quick update on my baby.
3 days and $1800 later, they diagnosed her with gastroenteritis. I must say that I am not happy with the bill and the girls that did not update me every time I called. I was happy Zoe was able to come last night but wish I would've brought her back sooner :(

As soon as she came home she went poop and it wasn't as watery or bloody as before but still really soft and spots of red and orange. Afterwards I tried to give her some chicken and guess what? She gobbled it all up! :). She's still eating grass and very lethargic but I think she will be better in a couple of days. They gave us panacur and the dr explained they use it in small amounts for anti diarrhea.

She was so exhausted last night and still this morning. I'm pretty sure being in the hospital in a cage for 3 days will exhaust you. Made me think how stressed out and sad all the shelter dogs are...
Anyways I hear her stomach rumbling but not sure if its from hunger or her diarrhea. Going to boil more chicken. Thank you all so much for all the helpful information and support! Happy weekend everyone!

Yes is like to hear opinions about the panacur too.
And I do have insurance! Haha just think it was very expensive

Great news!!  Here's to a full and speedy recovery!

Glad to hear Zoe is doing better and hopefully will have a speedy recovery. You can imagine how shocked I was when I got the vet bill for Baxter's recent surgery, almost $4,000. But, I wouldn't have it any other way, he is doing great and all restrictions will be lifted as of next week!

Yay! Zoe is home!!! So happy for you!

I am very glad to hear Zoe is home. My two had a probably viral GI thing about a month and a half ago. I ended up giving them some Immodium a couple of times and it helped a lot. Of course they just had diarrhea although Calla did not seem herself at first. We had no vomiting. I did take a stool sample in after Call's run went on a few days . It was negative and that's all the vet involved business I had. But it does seem that Zoe was a lot sicker.

I am so glad she is home. Gosh, I hope you have insurance.

glad to hear that she is back home and now you can continue to nurse your back to her normal happy peppy self.

So happy Zoe is home and doing a little better.  She probably is so glad to be home and in her own bed.  Prayers for her continued improvement!

Hoping Zoe improves quickly!

Glad to hear she is home..hope she gets well soon!

So glad that she is home and starting to eat!  It is so frustrating when they won't eat.   I have to say though 3 days at an emergency vet, I was thinking the bill would be more!  Not that $1800 isn't enough, but it just doesn't seem to take anytime at all to rack up $1800 at those places.

I agree, I was surprised too!  In California it would be probably three times that for three days!  I just so happy she is home and getting better, that's what matters now!
