Hi all, I am some what new here. I always see the word Zoomies. Is this a word used to describe "active" dogs, or is it more than just that?

Just curious,

Rhonda....You will know Zoomies when you see it. LOL.....picture your pooch running figure eights and about 80 mph!

Perfect explanation!

Ditto!! CRAZY!!!

Carol, you forgot about that crazed look that sometimes accompanies a good case of the zoomies.  You know the one...eyes wide open, tongue hanging out.  Although it is sometimes hard to notice the expression as they run by you in a blur.

And typically ends in a heap of panting fur!

Zoomies can also be identified by the way the dog's body seems to defy the laws of physics by being both completely stretched out and yet also parallel to the ground when she takes those turns!!

My Monty is guaranteed to do zoomies after a bath.  Runs around like a nut case.  :)

Yes! I just posted a video of this with Ember... she was captivated by a blanket for about 48 seconds and then off running and running.

You must have a clone of my Monty. He does exactly the same thing. Calm as a sheep in the bath, but as soon as he is out...whoa!!!

What is sometimes referred to as 'puppy zoomies,' or more technically Frenetic Random Activity Periods (FRAP).

Love it Jane, a new doodle term! FRAP

Thanks all, Thought it was something like that. Jen I actually just watched your video post so funny.
