These will probably be less frequent from here on out, but I've loved seeing all of the responses and I wanted to add this one too before the holidays! Feel free to continue with the other challenge as well! I think in the future if anyone has a photo they think would work well they should post it as an editing challenge too, it's harder than you think to find good neutral photos. :-)

Here is the second image to edit

In my edit (which I did a while ago) I wanted to change the asphalt to look like dirt, and made the leaf stand out more by adding saturation and clarity. I also made the water blue. (All of this was done using the layer mask technique that I've detailed in my how-to)

Very cool! I don't have that much imagination.

He he, LOVE the girl sitting on the leaf, I never would have thought of that!

Oh this really is imaginative....great job.

This is awesome Joy!  I was thinking of something similar (without the kitty) but didn't have a clue how to do it.

This one is VERY creative. Love!!

Wow, so imaginative"

I went for putting the leaf in the middle of an ice storm.

This is so gorgeous! It reminds me of Rivendale in LOTR. :-)

I actually thought of Tolkien when the image was coming together. At first I had no idea what to do with the leaf, but I began working with colors and then, when the icy blues and greys emerged, I knew what I wanted to do. Many layer masks--for colors, selective blur, selective sharpen, selective shadow, etc. I am so glad I learned to do this--thanks to your tutorial!

:-) Well, it's a beautiful end result!

Such intense work and great product.

Very cool, DJ! It does look like its frozen!
