Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Although I have been a member of DK for nearly a year and a half, I have only recently joined this group and quite honestly, I don't feel worthy of belonging.  While I love looking at all of the beautiful pictures that get posted here, many of the discussions are "over my head."  My DH purchased a Nikon DX for me in 2006, but it might as well be a "point and shoot" as that is the way I use it. At this point in my life, with my children attending college and no longer participating in football or drill team, most of the pictures I take are of Knox (surprise, surprise!).  While I have resorted to paying my semi-professional photographer/friend to take the annual Christmas pic of my kids, I wanted to take Knox's pic myself for the DK card exchange. I have selected three photos that I think have possibilities, but I need a little bit of help in "cleaning" them up.  In the first one, Knox's face looks  dirty, and in the next two, I have too many shadows (I realize that the third one needs to be cropped, but I wanted to send it unaltered.)  I also realize that Knox needs a trim around his eyes in all of the pics, but it's a little too late for that!

Is there any one that would take a few minutes to help me with these pictures?  I would greatly appreciate it!  If it's best to send the pics by email, please let me know!

If others need help with their pics, feel free to add to this discussion!

Totally an amateur but had a little fun...everyone suggested www.picnik.com for me and there are some simple things you can do to your photo to make it better for you!

Thanks, Katie, for helping me!  I love the hat -- it makes the pic much more "Christmas-y!"  He would never have kept a real one on, LOL!

First welcome to the group.  You are as worthy as any of us.  We just enjoy taking photos and getting help from everyone here at doodle kisses!  I like your first 2 shots.  Sorry I can't help with editing, I don't do much of it, need to learn.

Jean, thanks for the welcome!  I remember your card from last year -- it was one of my favorites!  You're a great photographer!

Thank you Doris, for the compliment.  Not that good, take many shots and hope for the best.  Looking forward to seeing your photos in the group.

I am no expert, but I put it in Lightroom, and applied a preset to brighten up the first one.

That looks great!

Thanks, Sue!  I love how bright it now is!  Knox looks so much better! Yay!

Hi Doris! Your photos are WONDERFUL!!! Please don't feel intimidated or hesitate to post your pics. We're just here to have fun and help each other out. :)

I actually love all 3 of these and feel any of them would make a lovely card. That said, I "tweaked" #3 for you, and cropped it to a 5x7. Here's a low rez version. (The high rez file was too large to attach, but if you email me at linda@bellcreativestudio.com I'll be happy to email it to you.)

Linda, I will email you tomorrow!  I like this pic -- mainly because it has ALL of my children in it!  Thanks for helping me!

Great!!!!

Here is a couple that I edited a bit. You already have some great edits from the other members here though!
