As a few of you know I just enrolled iin a photography class at the local Adult Ed center.   Last night was our second class and I walked out more confused than when I walked in!   I don't blame the instructor....it's not easy to teach an "old dog" new tricks!    I was feeling rather overwhelmed and a little depressed about my inability to grasp what others seemed to grasp so easily (or so it seems to me!).   So today I did a search on the wonderful World Wide Web  and found this awesome site!

http://photokaboom.com      There you can find printable photo flash cards, photo "cheat sheets" as well as printable Photoshop Elements tutorials.

I've only begun to explore the site....but so far I'm so impressed with the EASY to understand (and digest) information about Apeture/ISO/Shutter Speed.

Maybe next week I'll be able to walk out of class feeling like I "got" something!

Thanks Carol, these are great!  I forgot the cheet sheet for manual mode I was supposed to upload today :(  I am writing myself  a note to remember to bring it tomorrow!

THANKS for sharing the kaboom.com website Carol!  I've saved it so when I get a good camera it'll all make sense to me....maybe!    I especially want to study the Photoshop Elements tutorials, but like you, I find it more difficult to teach an old dog new tricks! ha
Thanks Carol, I just bookmarked the site and it looks like it will be really helpful.
Thanks. We all need all the help we can get.
great! thanks!
Thanks, Carol....I really need the "cheat sheet".

Wow!   This is a wonderful site.  I love Photoshop and just haven't had enough time to spend learning it.  One of

these days......................

Thank you!  This is exactly what I've been looking for!  I even took 2 photography lessons.  Luckily, I wasn't the only one that didn't have a clue - the whole class didn't have a clue, so he "dumbed" his lesson down for us!  You are NOT alone!  It is very confusing!

Thanks again!

I'm so happy you found this and that it makes more sense than  the way the teacher was explaining it. His tips and cheat sheets look great!

I have attempted five Photoshop courses at various continuing and adult education sites, including three on-site and two online classes. I also ended up more confused than I started and actually "learned" to use Photoshop on my own.  I can do a fairly good job at editing my photos but, did not always work in the most efficient manner, nor did I take advantage of the many facets that Photoshop offers.

Finally, on my fifth course, which was a free onsite Photoshop CS-5 course offered in five, five-hour segments by the

Continuing Education Department of the San Diego Community College District, I hit the jackpot.  I don't know if it was the instructor (who was very good) or whether my own study had prepared me to learn.  Anyway, I really gained a lot from this course.  Unfortunately, the course started on the Friday after the power outage we suffered in Southern California and the first class was cancelled.  The instructor condensed his material into four sessions.  I wish we had all five segments.

Enrollment in this course allowed me to buy and register Photoshop Lightroom 3 as well as Photoshop CS-5 at the student discount price.  Photoshop Elements-9 as well as other Adobe programs are also available at a discounted student price...

So far I am all self taught too with the help of some on line tutorials. I'm glad 4/5 of your class was good : )
Cool! Thank you! This is helpful especially since the beginner class I registered for this fall was cancelled :(
