I have a question about the clone stamp

I set up my new computer last night and man is it cool.  I now have a 23" screen which seems huge.  Anyway, I had them put on photoshop elements and I played around with it last night.

 

I have yet to find where it explains how to use each feature, and played around with it some.  Then I tried to use the clone stamp. Once you click on the stamp, what do you do?  If anyone can give me the gist of it, I would appreciate it.  I obviously have a lot of learning to do in a very short time.

F answered this well, but if you want a video example, I would just search "how to use the clone stamp in elements" or something similar. There are many videos posted with step by step instructions that have been super helpful for me!
