1st Kim, we sat in an open barn, in -12 and got given the house rules, ideas of what to bring for us and the dogs, then watched a video that was hillarious... sort of a 'what you say', 'what they hear' and 'what they think'. The 'they think' was mainly about different kinds of poo on the ground.. which my dogs are all about... lol.

2nd, Welcome back Kate!! So sorry to hear about all the sadness. That is a lot to handle in that short a time. I look forward to any advise you have to offer.

3rd. We had our first class together tongiht. What a blast. My dog didn't behave as well as I know she can but she still made me very proud. As far as the stations went.. she had no problem. She's not fussy about the wobbly board but will take on anything else. I was worried she would get in a dominant mode with the other dogs but the set up was such that we all respected each others space. She was totally preoccupied with watching the other dogs do the A Frame which I thought was funny. She went half way up the first time and the there was no stopping her. I think the 'control' training we have been doing for the Cattle dog training has really made a difference.

Great looking jump, LeAnn and Lucy.
I am proud of the "stumbling frontcross". On one front cross I tried with Murphy,
he actually took me down (cut my legs out from under me)..then ate all the treats that spilled everywhere. He is so fast I try to focus on rear crosses in self defense. Distance handling would be even better. I would really like it if he could read those little numbers, too.

Hi Nancy,
I think it is neat that your 1st class was without your dog. What did they focus on?

Congrats LeAnn! How long have you been training? I am still struck by how fast that doodles learn. I remember when my obedience teacher was discussing how dogs are challenged and love to learn sequences, I didn't understand. It wasn't until agility that I began to understand. Parris is the first dog that I have trained in agility. We have been training a year now and really having fun.

Hi y'all! Lucy (my black 14 month old doodle) and I are learning agility. We did our first "sequence" in class this week and it was SO exciting. She did the A frame, jump, jump into a stumbling front cross (where I about killed myself) into the big finish - THE TUNNEL. It was great fun. This weekend I made my first jump

There is a link on my page to his photos. In one he is bringing me the leash. (not one other dog ever touched his leash the entire event, 550 runs)

Nancy, I am really excited for you. I know you will have fun. Hopefully you won't have the class clown, though I am growing accustomed to it.

A large number of dogs at this trial were Australian shepherds and cattledogs,
with a few border collies.

HAHA that sounds like fun... maybe there is a line of work for doodles in comic relief or rodeo clowns... half time shows? At least he is having fun!! We just got accepted into the agility lessons and start on the 5th of March... I am very excited!!! In the mean time we continue on with our cattle dog training.
