Our australian labradoodle just had a scary bout with this condition. It involved vomiting and pooping large amounts of blood. Has anyone else had this experience? Fortunately after visits to an emergency care facility and to our own Vet, he is fine!

I just read a news brief on line about several dogs from one daycare getting this. 3 did not survive. It's good that your dog survived.

That's a little strange since it is not contagious and the cause is unknown. We suspect our dog had swallowed parts of a bully stick that irritated his digestive system. He is not a dog who is out and about without a leash or at a day care facility. It certainly can be fatal if the dog is not hydrated quickly.

This is scary - not contagious but many dogs in close proximity getting it.  I am glad that your dog is fine now.

Or got into something. No more bully sticks for my boy whether or not they caused his problem!
