Groomer in Central Texas

For those of you in the Central Texas/Austin area....where do you get your doodle groomed? I live on the southwest side of town and currently take Charlie to Groomingdales.  But it is far away and I was wondering if there is anyone closer to the west or south side of town that someone can recommend.

Alfie and I live in SW Austin. I take him to Laura's Doggie Doos just off of Manchaca south of Wm Cannon. She does a great job, she's SUPER reasonable, and Alfie loves her! The number is 497-3966. (Tell her Alfie and Susan sent you.)

Hi Diana,

We live southwest also. I took Susan's advice and we also go to Laura. It's not a fancy set-up (she converted her garage to be her workplace), but she does a nice job grooming Lucy. This past week, I took Lucy in with some mats that she had gotten after swimming and sitting in front of a fan (at a friends house while we were on vacation). I had worked on them and was not able to get them all out, so I was afraid Laura would need to shave her down. Laura and the shampoo lady (can't remember her name) worked really hard to comb the mats out and cut a few of them with a special too, so they didn't end up shaving Lucy down! I was so pleased. Her prices are super-reasonable! (I gave them a large tip after all that extra trouble they went to!)

There are 2 grooming places that I have found that I like.  Not sure if they are close enough for you or not.  One is Groomingdales.  They are in North Central Austin...on Koenig Lane (Rt. 2222) between Burnet and Lamar.  The other is in Lakeway.  It is called Dogtopia and the groomer is a lady named Alex.  She is very good.  I like both but am currently going to Dogtopia as it is closer to my house and Alex just does one dog at a time so he is done in a couple of hours.
