I have been looking at a lot of the pictures of the pups on here and noticed a lot of them to be very light colored to almost white. Looking at Bunker he looks somewhat darker than the rest of the pups. Will he lighten as he gets older or will he stay more of his lighter red color.
I am just curious as to where he stands on his coloration. The breeders said the litter was a cream litter and we didnt see him until almost 6 weeks old. They have prior pups on their site that are very white. When we picked Bunker they told us they the darker their tips of their ears are thats the color they will usually be. He said that because Bunkers ears were darker he may not lighten too much.
So I guess I am just curious as to what to expect here LOL. Lighter pup or darker pup. Either way i love my little man and can not wait until he comes home on 2 weeks.
Our Abby was a beautiful apricot color when she was a pup - now she has lightened up a lot but has kept the apricot ears and muzzle - (and back end too) She does have so redder patches of color throughout her body tho too, like the backs of her hind legs... I am amazed when I look at her puppy pictures - she doesn't look like the same pup - but then that is the case with most of the doodles, unless of course if you go with a very light one to start with.
This is a picture of Lucy the day I brought her home. She is very white.
This is a picture of her this Thanksgiving. She is much darker than as a pup.
I don't know if you can really tell when they are a pup what they are going to look like
Darwin hasn't changed color very much. He has gotten slightly brighter on his body, but it isn't too noticeable. He is only eight months now... perhaps he will still lighten a bit?
