Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Our labradoodle Tyson sometimes will run toward us at full speed--like when he's excited we are home, or when we are playing--and use his face/nose to stop himself. It doesn't seem like it could feel too good, but Tyson does it pretty frequently. Does anyone else have a doodle that does this?

No, only runs into things when his hair is too long and in his eyes and can't see. But then it's walls and furniture. Keep bangs shorter now tho.
Callie uses her nose as a nudging tool...sometimes it's just to wriggle into a better snuggle spot but sometimes she uses it to remove a book out of my hands (I would guess that she's thinking "Mom - if you're not smart enough to know that you should be using your time to be petting me, then I will forcibly remind you".
Hello..our labradoodle Cagney uses his nose to coax us into giving him a treat... giving him attention... push the book or what ever might be in the way ---out of the way.... for petting.... he also likes to stand in the way of the tv...he likes watching tv and if he wants attention he stands in the way and will keep moving side to side to stay in the way.... Cagney runs at us at full speed...sounding like a horse coming but will try to veer away at the final minute he arrives... sometimes he misjudges and bangs into your leg...ouch!
OH YES!!!! Tori runs full speed at us when we come home too. She actually charges at us head first and jumps right into us. The male members of my family really need to do some quick Uh-Hem - covering up or they could get "hurt"!. Never the less, we LOVE the excited welcome we get! Our golden was happy to see us whenever we came home too, but it was nothing like the welcomes we get now!!!
LOL!! Male members in our home need to beware also! When Murphy was small, I taught him "peekaboo", where he would go between my legs and come back between and sit, facing forward, safe between my legs.
Well, NOW, Murphy is 30 inches at the shoulder and his head is at 36 inches (countertop height).
When the boys see Murphy barrelling toward them to do "peekaboo" we all break out laughing (and "covering up')
Timbow does that, but more in a head butting way. He also pushes his noses against other dogs when he wants to play.
"Nosey Bear" ... love it!!
My Lily uses her nose to bump you or nudge when she wants attention or just checking in. I love it when we are walking and she bumps my hand as if to say "I'm right here beside you where I'm supposed to be, see Mom, I'm being a good girl." Other times when we are in different parts of the house she willl come to where I am and just bump me somewhere saying, "Oh there you are, just checking in." Lily is a very vocal girl, so when she needs to go out she will start with a gentle bump then very quickly go to the hurry up Mom bark. My favorite bump is when I'm cooking and not paying attention to her she will come up and bump me on the behind, "Hey Mom, I'm still here." Lily is not a real needy dog but she is not one that will let you forget her either.
We call Marlow "the Schnoz" because he is constantly using his nose to get our attention! My husband said we should have named him Jimmy Durante!
Webster never did this before but he is currently wearing a cone. He is constantly bumping into us with the edge of his cone and I think its on purpose.
