wipe his/her face on walls after eating?

I'll try to get a video of this, but it is so bizarre and kinda funny. Sadie walks back and forth rubbing her face against the wall (and sometimes the couch) after eating and drinking. I've tried wiping her face with a towel to prevent it, but she will still rub the wall if I do that. One of our walls always looks dirty now, I can't keep up with cleaning it every time she rubs her face against it. Funny doodle!

Not loving the idea of the dirty walls but I can't imagine how you would stop that behavior.

My Lily does this with the couch and also she likes to flip the bedspread up to wipe her nose and mouth on the sheets! (YUK)

Tara...that's so funny that you mention this. When Sophie is finished eating I say let's go wipe. She runs out to the porch which is carpeted, stretches and goes full speed wiping both sides of you face. It's so funny! She has done it in front of other people and we all laugh. Fortunately, its not the walls.

My husband and I laugh after every meal because as soon as she's done eating, she jumps onto our couch and starts rubbing her body all over the place and burying her face in the leather. I will say though that she had an upset stomach yesterday and we've been feeding her chicken and rice and she hasn't been doing it. I guess when she has people food she minds her manners a little better!

no, but Beck tries to wipe his face on my clothes after he eats or drinks water. He gets kind of upset when I won't let him do it and wipes his face with his paw looking the whole time like it is a horrible inconvenience

Yes.......along the tiles on the walls, the leather couch and along the bedskirt of my bed!

So funny...so does our Gracie. If she is outside in the patio she will rub her face against the patio chair seats or the brick side of our firepit. This is usually after drinking or getting a bath. If she is on the lawn then she dives into the lawn and rubs her face or goes against a bush. When desperate she will go against a wall. In the house she loves to do what we call "beddie bye surfing"..this is where she sticks her head under the overhang of our comforter and rubs her face on the mattress or bed skirt. She just keeps going back and forth around the bed as we stand there laughing. Such a funny girl!!

Soooo funny, Gracie Doodle does this all the time. Mostly when she is wet, which is always! She will do it on the lawn, against a bush, against our raised fire pit in the patio or against a patio chair. In the house she will do it against a wall but her most favorite place is our bed. We call it "beddie bye surfing"! She will go back and forth using all three sides and she gets her head under the comforter and does it underneath. It is such a funny thing to see. We never stop laughing at this site!!

Morgan does the exact same thing! She will rub her face while walking back & forth against the wall and does this strange sounding high pitch bark. And you're right, our walls in the den stay dirty all the time. Sometimes, after rubbing on the wall, she will jump up on the couch and scoot along the back of the couch and make her funny sounding bark.
