Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have finally summoned up the courage to attempt to groom Maxwell myself. After much research through various sites, I decided to purchase the Andis AGC Super 2-Speed Professional Animal Clipper with Locking Blade. Unfortunately, I can't find guide combs to fit the blade. Does anyone use this clipper? If so, where do you find the combs? Do they make longer combs like 1-1/2"?

I will return the clippers if I can't find Combs. Any suggestions for good clippers under $200 for a large goldendoodle with wooly fleece type coat?

Hi Julie,  I  have the Andis stainless magnetic combs and love them. One note if you decide to go with this comb that works with a 10 or 30, you will see on the comb that one each side of the top of the comb, there is a number - one side is 10 and the other is 30,  You need to make sure that the blade number you choose is showing, otherwise the blade will be hard to put on and/or vibrate like mad.    As long as there are no mats, they will glide through the hair.  If you snag, you have hit a mat which can be really small but will stop the comb.  I hope you enjoy using them.  Good luck!

Dear Julie, I just joined your group and am a specialized Doodle and Waterdog groomer in the Netherlands. I give grooming workshops to Doodle owners and let them use the Wahl KM 2 clipper with matching attachment combs. These give a very natural look and they also fit on the Andis clipper. Plus they are not expensive. I will be selling them on my website as soon as my international webshop is ready, but I love this product and use it myself all the time and so do the workshop participants.
